So Yesterday was guitar and string quartet?

Number 18.  Don't be confused by when it was released and when it became popular.    The Album I'm speaking about was "rerelease in the US"  meaning it had never originally been released here before.  Think About it.  HINT  10 years apart!

Philip Eno: Yes, Yesterday was Guitar and string quartet (the answer is in your question dude!)

Hi birdman...some toughies here...

#2. On the original US release they were known as 'The Beat Brothers'...this issue is worth obscene amounts of cash nowadays, so if you've got one lurking in the garage...!

#5. I was originally gonna put down 'Revolution #9', but your hint to Philip helped...
'Eleanor Rigby'

#7. The original title for 'The White Album' was 'A Doll's House', but was pulled because British group Family had an album out at the same time called 'Music From The Doll's House'...

#14. I'll have a wild stab at 1964 (if you're talking US #1s...)

'Magical Mystery Tour' would have been the answer had you not said 'never been originally released' (in the US)...it was...

We in Britain never had an LP release of it until 1976, but you could obtain it as a LP via a Capitol import which was originally released in 1967/68...

That's it! Thanks Paul :) Did you know that George Martin always thought that Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour should've been a double LP ;)

O.K. here's an update 8)...   Paul 31/2 for 4 but I'll give ya 4!   2).  "Tony Sheridan and The Beat Brothers"  5). Eleanor Rigby ( can you really consider Revolution 9 a song)?  I should have said single.   7).  OUTSTANDING!  14). Sure Enough, 1964

18).  I'm a Technical Jerk.  No not Magical Mystery Tour or Rock and Roll Music.

Tanya! YallZa Girl! You got It!  NO. 19 On Taxman Paul played lead guitar and George Played bass.  Now on NO.6 You have two, two are missing.

NO.12, No Abby Road had 4,  The correct answer had 6

Catwoman, nice try but no.  Only the US version of Magical Mystery Tour
had Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, Hello, Goodbye and so on on it.  The original UK version came as two small discs with only the music from the soundtrack.

I manage to buy from a charity shop the Double EP of Magical Mystery Tour for 25p.

Nope!  In fact, most of the Sgt. Peppers LP was band from airplay by both the BBC and FCC for suggestive content.  It is, however, the most highly acclaimed album the band ever recorded.

#18  The UK, 14 song, parlophone version of Revolver was released in the UK in 1966, but was not released in the US until 1976 when Got To Get You Into My Life was released as a single.  In 1966, Capital records released a 12 song version in the US.
