Subject: A little 80's lyrics quiz!
Written By: Doc Brown on 01/22/05 at 6:53 pm
We've had so much fun with the movie line quiz, I'm seting this up to see if those good at movies are as good at music!
Just for clarity, let's try not to have more than 3 unaswered lines on the board at once, and always give the year it was on the radio.
Here's my first, from 1984:
"You'll say anything to avoid a fight."
We'll need artist & title. So who's up first?
Your Pal,
Doc

Good job, Baby. It's one of my favorite songs. Here's another one from 1985:
"All I could see was him running down the street."
Think hard now!

That one is 'Dream on, White Boy, Dream On, Black Girl' by INXS.

OK Baby, I hope you enjoyed the concert. I saw Phil with Genesis on the 'Dance' Tour in '92. Clearly you need a little more of a challenge, Let's see if this works, it's from 1988:
"Far away, too many leaders let'em get their way."
I saw the performer(s) in concert a year later, Good Luck!

It's never simple enough! But Wezza, you're supposed to give the year of release.
1985: Simple MInds - Alive & Kicking!
Here's an easy one from 1980:
"Pretty soon we learn to fly."
Have fun with it!

Right you are, Wezza! I had a hunch that clue would make it too easy.
"But I don't want to land in New York City,
Don't wanna land in Mexico,
Don't wanna land at no Three-Mile-Island,
Don't wanna see my skin a-glow."
I hope this one from 1981 is a challenge(to some!):
"Where does that highway go to?"
Good luck to all!

Doc

This was one of the best I have been to in a while.

OMD - "If You Leave"
BTW, Bat Out Of Hell? That was definitely not 80's! and neither is a Simple Minds song from 1991.
Would you guys like a 70's/90's lyrics quiz?
How'bout some hints for mine?
1980/1 - A big white suit
1988 - Go South for this one.

I'm afraid that one's already been guessed, AB. ::) I only posted those lyrics to explain the clue.
Here's a new one for you to puzzle over, from 1987:
"It's learning the hard way..."
If anyone gets this, it'll probably be AB, but it's still anyone's guess. Have fun with it!
