Written By: NullandVoid on 05/04/04 at 6:56 pm

OOPS!!
We seem to be having a little conflict of interest over the answer to #1. To be fair I decided to replace that dumb riddle with hopefully a better one. Sorry about any confusion guys.

you already know what to do....

Good Luck!!

1. It sings and has ten feet, what is it?
A Quintet (Sha-Qona)

2. Re-arrange these letters to give four different 6 letter words:
                          B  E  L  S  T  U
Bluest, Bustle, Sublet, Subtle (Gaylon)

3. Rearrange these letters to the title of a 1987 movie: Merest Plethora
The Last Emperor (Gaylon)

4. What gets wetter and wetter the more that it dries?
An Umbrella or sponge (Indy Gent)

5. What goes up and down the stairs without moving?
A carpet OR a bannister (Karen)

6. President Clinton is listed as America's 41st president, but only 40 men have held office. Why?
Grover Cleveland held office during 2 Consecutive terms. He was the 22nd and 24th President. (Indy Gent)

7. What happened in 1961 that will not happen again for over 4000 years?
It's an 'upside down' year - i.e., write it down and spin it 180 degrees and it still says '1961'...presumably the next will be 6009...
(Paul)

8. You're stuck in a cold dark house. There's a candle and a wood fireplace, but you only have one match. Which would you light first? Light the match first (Indy Gent)

9. There is one in a minute and two in a moment but only one in a million years. What are we talking about? The Letter "M" (Karen)

10. What can a pitcher be filled with so that it is lighter than when it is full of air?
Holes (MooRocca)

1. Rhythym is spelled r-y-t-h-y-m, unless this is a trick question.
4. An umbrella or a sponge
6. Grover Cleveland was President on two separate terms. Thus, he is the 22nd and 24th President.

THE BAD NEWS: According to webster's dictionary Rhythym is spelled exactly as you see it here, sorry.

THE GOOD NEWS: You got the other two right!!!

It doesn't look right, but I'll take your (and Webster's) word for it.
8. You would light the match first.

Another possible answer to #4 is a towel

#5 could either be a carpet or the bannister (hand rail)

#9 the letter m

1. One of the words in this puzzle is not spelt right, which one is it?
PRECEDE  DELICACY PARALLEL  RHYTHYM  SEPARATE  DECEIVE

None of them are spelt "right".. only "right" is spelt "right" ;)

5. What goes up and down the stairs without moving?
*There are two possible answers, I'll accept either

Bannister

9. There is one in a minute and two in a moment but only one in a million years. What are we talking about?

The letter "M"

10. What can a pitcher be filled with so that it is lighter than when it is full of air?

I'm tempted to say "nothing"... but theoretically hydrogen or helium (if you turn it upside down)
