Subject: Can anyone name this group?
Written By: Les_Klepper on 11/28/03 at 11:25 p.m.
I taped a song off the radio sometime from 1987-1989 I'm pretty sure. I was going through some old tapes and heard it again but the station never said what the name of the song or group was. By hearing the lyrics I suppose the name of it is "Bed of Lies". I couldn't quite make out all the lyrics but here are some of the words to the song: "You're tellin' lies with them big brown eyes, playin' the part of a cheatin' heart. It's a bed of lies we're layin' in tonight. It's a bed of lies, the truth's in your eyes, a bed of lies, bed of lies.............Holdin' my tears as I thought, I'm drinkin' my way back in to your heart...Well I poured two drinks and I turned away, walked to the kitchen I could her yell, "I'm gonna leave you I'm not your slave, you're gonna get it, just you wait. So I finished my drink and I got back in bed. It's a bed of lies were layin' in tonight, it's a bed of lies the truth's in your eyes...etc. I'd like to get the CD this song is on. If anyone can tell me the name of the group and album please let me know. Thanks

Hi there Les_Klepper.
The main artist of this song seems to be Matchbox Twenty. Other artists are Penelope Huston and the Da Capo Players.

the matchbox 20 version is probably a completely differrent song considering it was released in 2000 and rob thomas is in the writing credits. It's probably the penelope houston version since that was released in 1987

The lead singer is male, I don't think it's Penelope Houston. I can't find anything about Da Capo Players, not even on Amazon. The song is definitely from the late 80's, so I guess that its doubtful that Matchbox 20 did it. Any other ideas?

The Da Capo Players are a string quartet group - no vocals - so it's not by them. Which leaves...nothing?

The song "Bed of Lies" is by The Cruzados from the album "After Dark" from 1987. Sorry that I put this in quizzes. I just registered Sat. nite. I should have put it in the 80's section (which I did).
