a. Winston Bazoomies - who is he?
Paul UK - he was (is?) the harmonica player for UK ska band Bad Manners - see #6 above
b. What's the connection between songs #13 and #14?
Paul UK - the connection is The Clash and the 'London Calling' LP. #13 is on that album and the bassline for #14 was copied from another song on the album, 'Guns Of Brixton'
c. How many times does Stevie Wonder feature in this quiz!?
The answer is 4 times, at least as far as I know. Stevie was obviously on songs #9 and #18 but he was also the uncredited guest harmonica player on #2 and #8. I just discovered that he also played harmonica on Chaka Khan's "I Feel For You" - very talented man!

Oh, if you insist...!
Winston Bazoomies (so it says on his birth certificate!) was the harp blower in good-time ska band Bad Manners (#6 above), who on their day, were quite amazing to watch (let alone listen to!)
You're extremely fortunate to have seen Dr Feelgood...I'd love to have caught them, but never did...I'm not sure if they've called it a day after the death of the legendary Lee Brilleaux...

I saw them live in Southport in 1979, post-Wilko era but I always thought John "Gypie" Mayo was underrated as his replacement. R'n'B (in the old sense of the term) was not big in Southport in 1979...the audience were mostly heavy rock fans wearing denims and leathers emblazoned with such legends as "AC/DC", "Motorhead", "Led Zeppelin" (or simply ZoSo), "UFO", "Scorpions" etc. etc.
It was a seated venue and for the first 4 or 5 songs the audience remained seated and somewhat bemused...most didn't appear to be familiar with the Dr Feelgood repetoire but could tell from just listening that it was great rock music. After about 20 minutes of little reaction, Lee Brilleaux asked, nay, demanded that everyone leave their seats and come down to the front of stage area....and that was it, the scene was set for another hour of one of the most memorable gigs I've been to. The crowd were going mental, Lee Brilleaux was really enjoying it, shaking hands with all the bodies crammed down near to the stage. It was quite emotional really.
I don't know if the surviving members of the band are still gigging at all. I can't imagine it would be the same without Lee though - RIP :(.

This is jam HOT, this is jam HOT... (w00tus).
I'm kind of ashamed that I didn't get the U2 one, I really ought to have known that!
Subject: Re: Harmonica quiz
Superb recollections re: Dr Feelgood, maddog...
After a bit of a scout around, I found that the band are still touring (albeit sporadically), but it's a completely different line-up from their heyday...
I'll have a crack at bonus question b), as I'm here...
I would imagine The Clash 'London Calling' LP is the connection, as it featured both 'Train In Vain' (#13) and 'Guns Of Brixton' a part of which was nabbed (but not sampled) by Cookie and his outfit for the re-hash of 'Dub Be Good To Me' (#14)...
Let battle commence for the remaining question...!

Correct once again Paul...I thought the "Dub Be Good To Me" bass line was a sample from "Guns Of Brixton" but I'm happy to take your word for it that it was a copy, not a sample.
As for the Stevie Wonder question, it's basically that he was the harmonica player (sometimes uncredited) on some other songs in the list. If no-one gets it in the next couple of days I'll put the answer up myself.
