While I am sure you are probably right, it is not the song I was thinking of... I try to find phrases that I hope will not show up in another song, but sometimes I slip up... :P

Both correct, altho' I will credit the latter to Warren Zevon. I've never heard it by Ronstadt, but I know she has done several of his songs.. :)

As for 1, you are right in that many poeple have recorded it (I just found that out while doing this quiz) but I think my generation and younger mostly know the Nazareth version. ;)

You are absolutly correct. He also wrote the incrediby depressing "Winesburg, Ohio."  I was getting mixed up with Stevenson, who actually wrote "The Black Arrow."
