#10 - "Papa's Goy A Brand New Bag" - James Brown
#18 was by the Beau Brummels (I thought they were British!) - "I'll cry just a little 'cause I love you so" was the first line of the refrain, so I hope that was the title of the song as well.
I've got #16 somewhere in my memory banks, but it doesn't want to come out. I'll struggle with it for a while.

Correction - Right song, wrong number - #16 was James Brown's "Papa's got a Brand New Bag"; #10 os the Beau Brummels' song "I'll Cry Just A Little" (I think that's it): and #15 is the one I'm still trying to place. Sorry - that's what you get for working from memory at my age. The next sign is when you start to repeat yourself. The next sign is when you start to repeat yourself.

Well, I can tell you that #10 and #16 are right, and #1 and #15 are by the same artist…

I've got it! #15 is "Over and Over Again" by the Dave Clark Five. The tune was going "over and over" in my head since my last post, and my synapses finally kicked in with the words: All at once it happened/the prettiest in the world/I said "Won't you come over and talk to me/and be my girl".

That's right. Now if we can find out the title of song #1, this quiz will be over!

When you said #1 was the Dave Clark Five, that was the giveaway - "Any Way You Want It".
Sorry to monoplize the quiz like this, but I had an unfair advantage. 1965 was the year I graduated from high school.
