Subject: There's Only So Many Good Ideas - Part I
This is not so much a quiz, but there wasn't really anywhere else to put it:
I'm looking for examples - not counting reprises, remixes or later revamps - where one group or artist has released distinctly different versions of the same song at around the same time.
One example is The Beatles with Revolution and Revolution 1.
Another example would be The Rolling Stones with Honky Tonk Women and Country Honk.
Any others?

Hi JPT
Icehouse released a slow version and a fast version of “Dusty Pages” around the same time, or perhaps one was a single and one was the album track…?
All I know is the slow one was a shocker… :-/

How about Billy Idol with White Wedding parts I II and III.
Also, on the White Album, the Beatles had Honey Pie and Wild Honey Pie.

Greg Lake put out two versions of "I Believe in Father Christmas." One was released on a single and the other was included on ELP's "Works" album. The one version incorporated a very strong orchestral ending while the other had a very quiet, gentle ending.

I might need more convincing. I found no reference to Part III, and from memory Part II is the instrumental part of the extended remix and not a seperately issued track.

I'd say these are two different songs with similar titles, and probably should go into "There's Only So Many Good Ideas, Part II".
