Subject: Mad Dog's *UNIQUE* lyrics quiz - no limits & hints
I'm making the bold statement that all the words, phrases or names in the lyrics below are UNIQUE in that they have been used once and once only in songs of popular music culture over the last 5 decades.
Of course I haven't heard EVERY popular song of the last 5 decades so I can't be 100% certain of uniqueness here. I'll give bonus points for anyone finding songs other than the one I had in mind.
Song title and artist please, limit 3 for now.

Hi Fuss
Ohhh dear....ever had the feeling that your best laid plans are in fact complete cack?
3 and 5 are correct.
NEITHER of your answers to 14 are the one I was thinking of but you get 2 bonus points anyway, so that's 4 already despite my paltry limit of 3...

#6 is "The Reflex" by Duran Duran. (Sorry, Hairspray! Why don't you participate in these quizzes?)
#11 is "The Joker" by the Steve Miller Band.
Subject: Re: Mad Dog's *UNIQUE* lyrics quiz
No 18 Back In The USSR - The Beatles
No 15 Industrial Disease - Dire Straits (and Brewer's Droop was Mark Knoplfer's first band)
This may not be the one you are thinking of but,
No 6 Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again - The Angels (AKA Angel City)
Subject: Re: Mad Dog's *UNIQUE* lyrics quiz
8. REM - It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

19. Me and Elvis-Human Radio
Probably not the song you're thinking about. :-/
1. There are actually 2 songs with Wormwood Scrubs. The most popular song was "Down At The Tube Station at Midnight" by the Jam (featuring Billy Bragg). The other song was "One Night In Moscow (And We'll Be Russian Home!) by Toy Dolls. Google does have it's advantages. ;)

#7 ""The Hooded Claw" - Frankie Goes to Hollywood "the Power of Love"
#16 "bippity boppity" - boo! The godmother in Cinderella
#19 "mantelpiece" - Yardbirds "Little Soldier Boy"
#20 "gypsy landslide" PJ Harvey "Good Fortune"
Is it proper to add more uniques?
Thanks for the workout!

#16 you're right, come to think of it, but not the song I was thinking of, so I've failed once again on the "unique" criteria
#19 once again a bonus point to you - I don't know this Yardbirds song
#20 YEESSS!!! (I may not have mentioned it before but I *love* PJ Harvey!)

I have learned my lesson and I'm publicly eating humble pie. Never again will I claim that the lyrics in my quiz are unique, I'll stick to "unusual" in future!
So sorry Fuss, Ballad in Plain D is not the mantelpiece reference I was looking for.
As for your thought process, you had hinted that you knew more answers when you said "only threee?" in your first answer. Then you put "Lazy Sunday" by the Small Faces in your Days of the Week quiz and that song has always reminded me of Park Life by Blur, somehow, so I suspected you'd made the same association. Or maybe I'm looking for patterns that don't exist!

What ? No bonus point ? Waaahhh !
Thought process ? I rarely have any, at least none that I can write about openly in these forums :P
There was no pattern. My reference to only three was that at that time I knew more that had not been answered <sniff>

Your bonus point is not forgotten! And I will be publishing the total points table, with bonus points, when all the answers are in.
By the way, your profile says you're in Australia and the "mantelpiece" reference I have in mind is by an Australian/New Zealand band of the late 80s/90s...
