That is correct, and the song being spoofed is "Who Put the Bomp" by Barry Mann, who wrote a lot of hits with Cynthia Weil in the 1960's.

I went through hell searching the parody name. The song being spoofed is obviously "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix. You hinted that it was by Bob Rivers, and I found it is called "Holidaze."
