You could say that. But I'd say more of a pop hit.

#8 is by Bo Donaldson & The Heywoods. While Paper Lace did do their own version of this song, it was Bo Donaldson & The Heywoods who took it to #1 in 1974).

Sorry, J.C. -- don't want you to think I'm ignoring your quiz -- I just don't have a clue on any of these! :(
Subject: Re: My Very Short 70s Lyrics Quiz
Correct, Karen M. I didn't realize Paper Lace did a version of this song. But I was thinking of the Bo Donaldson & the Heywoods version. So I'll give FBVP some credit. ;)

Subject: More Clues
There are 3 questions left, but I will give you guys the answer to #6, since nobody's even wagered a guess:
It was a McDonald's commercial from the early 70s featuring John Amos. After he sang "With a burger and bun" in the Busby Berkeley inspired ad, Amos went on to play the father on "Good Times". The actor that played the eldest son, Jimmy Walker, coined the phrase "Dy-no-mite!" The younger people will remember him as the owner of "McDowell's" (how ironic) in the film, "Coming To America" and one of the bad guys in "Die Hard 2". Now don't you feel better? ;)
On with the quiz. I have added another line to each song.
#3 Temp'rature is risin'.Girl there is no disguisin'.
Another hint: This was on some of the "Worst Songs of the 70's" list. The intro sounds like a jet plane.
11. I've been framed by what's-his-name and he's gettin' away. Charlie Chan see if you can.
Subject: Re: My Very Short 70s Lyrics Quiz (Still Open)
7.The Weather Girls - It's raining men!
I know it's not the answer ,but it is how the song starts and that put it in my head!
