Subject: one decade of lyrics (now with clues)
Fuss, sorry to compete with your lyrics quiz, but I'm bored. ::)
There is one song from each year of the 1970s. Not in chronological order tho' ;) Name the song, artist and year.
Note: Songs correctly identified will be preceeded with the initials of the indentifier, and followed by the year.
clues: a second (continuation) line has been added to the to the unidentified lyrics)
The quiz is now complete!
WL1. Have you got a place to stay? (1977)
FB2. The sun comes up across the city girl I swear you never looked so doggone pretty (1971)
WL3. And I've gone by the point of caring (1974)
WL4. I've been waiting in the hall (1978 )
FB5. Something said she understood (1970)
CD6. Well a hush fell over the pool room (1972)
PB7. It was clear that she couldn't go on (1976)
HS8. Every day in your indigo eyes I watch the sun set but I don't see it rise (1975)
FB9. You won't find one half as pretty or one with a heart so true (1979)
JG10. I would dance upon a string any gift she'd want I'd bring (1973)

Zella
Competition is good.
Besides, after the usual contributors my quiz thread has predictably died.
(Where are you all, people ?????? Younger board members (which is most of you), ask your parents !)
So the more quizzes the better, besides, if you or others don't post quizzes what am I going to do ?
Please continue to post quizzes.
Having said that, I am now going to have to go away and think about your quiz, the answers are not readily apparent...
FBVP :'(
PS How can you, Zella, by your own admission, have a quiz that runs past 1976 ? You getting help from the outside or what ?? ;)

Yoik ! I thought of one :
# 5 Shilo - Neil Diamond - 1970
FBVP :)
Subject: Re: one decade of lyrics
#6 is "You Don't Mess Around with Jim" by Jim Croce.
Subject: Re: one decade of lyrics
1. "We Just Disagree" - Dave Mason
3. "Midnight Rider" - Allman Brothers Band
4. "Miss You" - Rolling Stones
Subject: Re: one decade of lyrics
Zella, this is a hard quiz! Maybe it's because it's just little snippets of lines. If I had more to work with then I'm sure I could come up with some of them. These just aren't coming to me.... :'(
Subject: Re: one decade of lyrics
Fuss: Correct. :) I do occasionally remember songs past 1976. I just don't usually remember the year as it all starts to blur at that point, so I have to check. ;)
Don: correct. :)
Lester: correct. :) correct. :) correct. :)
Karen. Sorry about that. I'm always afraid to make the line too long, for fear it will be too easy. You could go back to my 60s quiz, where one song remains unidentified, and I posted two lines! :D

That one had been bugging me, because I knew I knew it: Don't Fear the Reaper by the Blue Oyster Cult. It finally came up in my WinAmp playlist.

Correct Philbo! Always happy to have another player too! It was getting monotonous with just the same half dozen of us! ;)

Bumped upward as clues have been added :)

Hey Z !
# 2 is Rings by Cymarron (1971) - it was the extra line that gave it to me :)
And HOW CAN we encourage extra people to play ?
Although, I see in one of mine today a question got answered by some washing powder ! Go check it out. And it was clever washing powder too !
FB :)

10. "Who's That Lady?" by The Isley Brothers
Subject: Re: one decade of lyrics (now with clues)
8. Jackie Blue - Ozark Mountain Daredevils
Subject: Re: one decade of lyrics (now with clues)
If 8 and 10 are correct, that leaves #2:
"Rings" by Cymarron.

"Rings" is correct! I figured extra lines were better than clues at this point anyway. Plenty of time for random clues later (altho' the extra line never helped in my 60s one. :( )
Washing Powder? ??? You mean by some kind of detergent pack... ::)
