Subject: My 2013 Vacation Pictures, Part 4: Panoramas And The Like

I hadn’t finished yet… ;) Here are some more pictures from my latest vacation. I hope you enjoy!
The first five were all taken near the village of Schipborg. We (i.e. my brother and I) quite unexpectedly stumbled upon this site while driving around rather aimlessly. The water you see is the Drentsche Aa, or Schipborgse Diep as it’s called locally. On one side of the street you’d find a parking lot, from where it was only a couple of yards to these views:

On the opposite side of the street was a hill (the Kymmelsberg). I climbed it, but the views from there were a tad disappointing:

On another day, I went driving with my sister, to see the Noordsche Veld (among other things). She had asked to see the moors there, and although the heather wasn’t as purple as we hoped for, it was still worth the while:

Here are some views from the (long) walk to the Westerbork Transit Camp. The first one shows the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (WSTR). It was deliberately built very close to the former camp site to ensure a tranquil environment.
