Subject: Halloween decorations

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love when people decorate their yards/houses but I do not have the energy to do so.
Post some pictures of decorations in your town/city/area/plane of existence
Here are a few in my neighborhood

Great pics! :) I love Halloween/Samhain. Autumn is my favorite season.
I can't decorate due to my pyrenees and shepherd are still young-ish and haven't learned to stop chewing on things in the yard. :) They'll get there.
And as for my neighbors, haven't seen anyone really decorating :-\\
So I will have to just enjoy these!

Mine, too. We were driving around today and even those the leaves are past peak around here-they are all a deep rust color and still beautiful, I am STILL in awe.
We don't decorate because it just takes too much. We usually just put out a pumpkin that isn't carved. Otherwise, it would just be too much work-not just putting everything up but also taking everything down. lol.
We have friends who used to have a pumpkin carving party every year. They stopped a few years ago because almost every year the weather really sucked on the day they held it. But, here is an albino pumpkin I carved a few years back. (Yes, I posted this shot before).

Thanks. It is amazing that with the lights on, it doesn't look like anything. But, with the lights off...

But, with the lights off...
looks like it was carved by a 7-year-old, or someone very drunk.

With the lights off or on?
The thing is, if our friends still had their party, today would be it. I miss them.
Here is what the hill looked like with all the pumpkins. I didn't realize the plow was right there when I took the pic. (Remember it was dark and I am blind). It is not the best pic but you can get a sense of what it looked like every year. The white specks in the pic are raindrops. Yup-it rained on us that year.

We decorate the inside of the house, my husband does not "hang" lights, so I cannot have outside decorations unless I am willing to do it myself. Since I am busy decorating in the house I guess I don't bother going outside.
Got a new black Christmas tree this year. I did not have any Halloween tree decorations and did not want to spend $'s on them after the tree investment, but I now have something to shop for.
Since i just tried to attach and i just found out I cannot attach pics from my phone, so I will just let you guess. You can look on fb, if you have an account you can look there.

That's a cool picture too. Especially for a blind photographer at night. The plow could be said that it is there for the "Children of the corn" effect or something. lol You could say the little white dots were "orbs". make it sound all mysterious and supernatural. :D
I wish I had the energy to do a pumpkin or decorate this year. I just don't. I think I have a low level depression that just won't seem to go away, (even at my favorite time of the year). Hubby hung up a ghoul from our porch but that's about as decorated as we got this year. I have tombstones to put out from last year, but they are made of paper/cardboard, so they don't usually get put out until the day of Halloween. I always dress in costume to hand out candy, but this year I just can't get into it. I might just put on a black dress and my fancy witches' hat. Absolutely no effort, well, not like I usually put into it anyways.

All the pictures look great. It's nice to see that people still decorate for Halloween, I see a lot of
houses with just a cardboard jack-o-lantern stuck to the door and call it decorated.
We entered our house in the town decoration contest. I was going to take pictures of my house, as well
as all the others in the contest, but the approaching hurricane made all of us take down our handywork
a little early. It's a shame, there were some pretty cool houses. At least they judged the houses before
the massive take down.

That "fridge" thing is creepy but cool.
To tell you the truth, a little surprised no one called the cops on that one, right on the lawn. (maybe someone did?)

I doubt it... it was realistic but pretty obvious that it was decorative and not "real"

I was thinking the same thing. Some psychopath could have used REAL bodies and displayed them and people would think it was fake-until the dogs & vultures started chowing down.

Corpse mistaken for Halloween decoration
FREDERICA, Del. — The apparent suicide of a woman found hanging from a tree went unreported for hours because passers-by thought the body was a Halloween decoration, authorities said.
The 42-year-old woman used rope to hang herself across the street from some homes on a moderately busy road late Tuesday or early Wednesday, state police said. The body, suspended about 15 feet above the ground, could be easily seen from passing vehicles.
State police spokesman Cpl. Jeff Oldham and neighbors said people noticed the body at breakfast time Wednesday but dismissed it as a holiday prank. Authorities were called to the scene more than three hours later.
“They thought it was a Halloween decoration,” Fay Glanden, wife of Mayor William Glanden, told The (Wilmington) News Journal.
“It looked like something somebody would have rigged up,” she said.
comment from another web site re this incident
"We can't help but wonder, if the person who eventually called the police hadn't bothered, how much longer would the body have hung there? This happened five days before Halloween. Add five days of decomposition to the equation and suddenly you have something a whole lot more terrifying."
