I'd love to see if anyone else makes their own costumes instead of buying them!
Little Devil Rider just told me he said I'd put up pictures of my Twi'lek costume from this past weekend's Horror Convention in Cherry Hill. This is without the red air brushing.. Long story short.. it was a disaster and we didn't have enough red paint! If you don't know already I am COMPLETELY obsessed with Star Wars.. So I hope you like it :]!

Yes, the entire outfit was made by me, and with a little help from Timmy with stuffing the Lekkus , and a trial and error with some chicken wire with Loki.
And here are some pictures from the Wizard world Comic book convention of the female ZOMBIE Wolverine costume I made, with Loki's help with the claws :].

these are great. thanks for sharing the pics. and you made them? :o I like the Star Wars one the best, isn't that girl Jabba the Hut's pet?
as for my costumes, my wife made me Pepe' Le Pew for Halloween, and Mickey Mouse as The Sorcerer's Apprentice, but no where near the quality of yours.

I used to deal with and made costumes for a living....but sadly I don't have any piccies :(

Thank you! And yes I made them :]! The twi'lek is actually Darth Talin, she's like a Darth Maul in twe'lik form :]. Jabba's slave twi'lek is actually a very pale periwinkle. :]!

I don't sew so I don't really make costumes, but Get things at the Dollar Tree, craft store to make, whatever and throw something together instead of buying a costume.

That's still 10x better then buying an $80 costume that 12 other people in your town will have :P!

okay now I'm thinking, I like vampires, but I've never seen a costume I even like, so I'm kind of looking at costumes and will try to some up with a sketch.
Oh yeah? I had to make a vampire costume before.. Do you like the new wave vampires with leather, or the old school ones with the victorian clothing? Personally I like the old school WAY better. :] The neck ruffles and the awesome jackets... very suave! :]

The neck ruffle things are neat, not sure I know what you're talking about when you say new wave leather. I seem to like witch outfits better. something like this but with sleeves like Elvira has and red tights instead of fishnets. Then the heels,fangs, make up, nails and maybe a wig.

See that's a classic outfit for a vampire though! New wave with leather is like the Lost boys movie. Where they're like wannabee bikers.. but with fangs :P I like where you're going with the outfit idea though, it could definitely use a corset belt though.. possibly a red one to match the tights :].

I definitely wore this when I was younger ha ha ha!! I think i was 12! That's so old school :P! You could probably find an adult size at Party City if you have one near you, they do SO many costumes!

So from taking something from a witch costume I ended up with a classic idea. I was thinking more like a lady looking for some guy she can sucker in. I really don't watch shows or read books vith vampires, but love Dracula Dead and Loving It.

Well I think so! I mean if you really think about it.. yes it is modernized, since it's shorter.. Elvira's was just really long. The costumes they have out there right now never actually HAVE to be exactly what they're labelled! People always ask you what you are anyway :P.

You were there? I wasn't wearing the tentacle head until about 3ish. I was sitting around the "Rigor Mortis Revue" booth from 10am until I actually put the headdress. What time were you there?

Done looking and forced myself to make up my mind. I'm doing a Jessica Rabbit kind of thing. It's going to be a red dress, but cut like that witch outfit. I have a black jacket with a collar, but if I wanted to make one, It would have the Elvira looking sleves and stuff. Never made my own wig before, but looks like something I can do myself and maybe save some money. I have sewn with a sewing machiene before, my mom made me do it and I never got exited about it.

Here are a couple of Matthew's favorite costumes....he has Optimus Prime, a Tampa Bay Bucs uniform (his choice NOT mine ;D) a Venom costume and a few others....he always does something weird with shoes for his costumes-wanted to wear the red boots with the Spidey costume, and Darth Vader wears Heelys. ::)

Oh my goodness! After my own heart! I made myself and Optimus Prime costume!!! I don't have any pictures in it yet, but when I do I will make sure I put them up. The funny thing is.. when I met Ray Park ( Snake Eyes and Darth Maul ) I was wearing the optimus prime costume I made it was really funny. I had such a fan girl moment ha ha! His costumes are so cute!!

I think this year I'll just put on the jester outfit I put together years ago. I found the top in some outlet stores, bought the hat on a Lego Land trip, got some foot cover things from Party City, and fishnet tights at Target. I'll have to get a picture of me wearing everything.
