On September 20 & 21, we had an outing with the company I work with to celebrate their 75th anniversary.

We went to the beautiful island of Texel where we played some games, ate & drank some and generally had a good time.  8)
I thought I'd share some pictures with you. I'd like to point out that I didn't take any of these.

First, here's the boat that took us to the island.

After our arrival, we cycled about a mile to an old redoubt where we had lunch.

Later, we went to the appartment building to check in and check things out.

After diner (barbecue), a night game (no pictures there b/c it was in a forest and REALLY dark) and a good nights sleep (yeah, right... ::)) we headed for the beach on Sunday morning.

If you're wondering why I'm not on any of these above: it's because the group was split in four. Some played beach volleyball, some went rafting (both seen above), others did a percussion workshop, and the remainder (including me) went "klootschieten" (an old ball game). Our team won, but sadly no pictures were taken there.

BTW: the original program included power kiting (instead of rafting), but that was canceled due to lack of wind. Incredibly so...

Not to mention tiring. ;) I'm not used to cycling (anymore), and we had to cycle to the appartment building as well (about half an hour).

As for me: I'm prominently visible in only one of the pictures, and there are two others where you can catch a glimpse of me. I'm kinda camera shy, or the camera doesn't like me (you decide).

We have wind power here however they don't have the kind of charm that the ones over there do.

We have a HUGE windmill down the road from us.  I'll have to go out and take a picture of it.  I don't think it has any real, practical purpose (just decoration) as the housing development is called Windmill Hill.  It's pretty though.
