I actually tried to find some pics of Brian's Record Option to post cause it's such a fantastic store, but I couldn't find any. I'd have to take them myself, but I don't have a camera :(
I love going into Brian's. I can get lost in that place for hours on end :)

Dallas, Texas
First settled in 1841, by John Neely Bryan as a trading post near the banks of the Trinity River, Dallas has since matured into a culturally diverse city with museums, theaters, gourmet restaurants and huge shopping districts. Dallas is the Southwest's leading business and financial center. It boasts the largest wholesale market in the world, lays claim to being one of the top convention cities in the nation and the number one visitor destination in Texas. There is much more but these are just a few reasons why Dallas is considered by many, as the Southwest's most metropolitan and cosmopolitan city. The City of Dallas had a population in 2000 by the U.S. Census of 1,188,580. A revised population figure for Jan. 2006 by The North Central Texas Council of Governments put the total at 1,260,950.
The region of Dallas-Fort Worth often referred "The Metroplex", is the largest landlocked urban region in the nation that continues to grow at a fast rate. The Metroplex region had a 2000 population total of 5,221,801; new revised figures Jan. 2006 by the NCTCOG put the total at 6,242,800.
Since opening in 1974 as the world's largest airport, DFW International Airport instantly focused worldwide attention and today the airport is one of the largest and top three busiest airports in the world. The Metroplex region continues to experience a very strong growing economy.
In the beginning of Dallas, from Bryan's little cabin house which once served as Dallas's first post office and county court house in the 1840s to today's Dallas Skyscrapers is remarkably impressive.

Did you ever see Dallas from a DC9 at night?
Dallas is a jewel, Dallas is a beautiful site
And Dallas is a jungle, but Dallas gives a beautiful light
Did you ever see Dallas from a DC9 at night?
Well Dallas is a woman who will walk on you when you're down
But when you are up, shes the kind you wanna take around
But Dallas ain't a woman to help you get your feet on the ground,
and Dallas is a woman who will walk on you when you're down
well I came into Dallas with the bright lights on my mind
Well I came into Dallas with a dollar and a dime
I came into Dallas with the bright lights on my mind
I came into Dallas with a dollar and a dime
Well Dallas is a rich man with a death wish in his eyes
A steel and concerete soul with a warm-hearted love disguise
A rich man who tends to believe in his own lies
Yeah Dallas is a rich man with a death wish in his eyes
I came into Dallas with the bright lights on my mind
But I came into Dallas with a dollar and a dime
Did you ever see Dallas from a DC9 at night?
Dallas is a jewel, Dallas is a beautiful site
And Dallas is a jungle, but Dallas gives a beautiful light

The London skyline isn't all that impressive, simply because most of the land was already in use by the time skyscrapers became a viable option. Thus, instead of up, London spread out.
However, some of the most wonderful buildings ever constructed are in London. I will show you.

Castroville, California. Supposedly the artichoke center of the world.
Yes, that is a giant replica of an artichoke, which is right in front of the restaurant named, you guessed it, The Giant Artichoke. The dudes are picking artichokes in the field by my house. And the Castroville sign is over Merritt St., in the center of town.

Yeah, that's the kind of place I've always wanted to live, Main St., USA - like at Disneyland. Everytime I go to Disneyland, I really immerse myself in that atmosphere and it's such a letdown to leave it because it's such a warm welcome compared to our hurried life these days. I hope your old down maintains that look for as long as possible!

That's the official site of North Point Mall, which is about 20 minutes from my house. It's the 6th largest mall in the country. Not surprising, considering how much money is up in North Fulton.

Typical subdivision. It's not what ours looks like....the houses aren't that close together and we have 2 car garages, but you get the point.

Ok, so I found some pictures. The city I grew up in was mostly known for citrus, steel mills and Hell Angels. Today it is known for the California Speedway. There is not really much to see out there. The mountains are pretty though.
A picture of the California Speedway (NASCAR) and a steel mill. The spot where the race track is used to be the site of another steel miil (Kaiser Steel) and that was where the steel mill scene of Terminator 2 was filmed.

I am semi-familiar with that area, given that I've only been through it maybe a couple times in my life. (Most recently on December 28, 2005...when my dad and I drove back from his parents' house. We'd stopped there (near the Speedway, incidentally!) to fill the gas tank.)

I dunno. My town was quite cliquey, and I wasn't one of the people who fit in. For now I like living in a big city, it seems like I can have a bit more anonymity here.

I totally agree with that...the anonymity. The town I'm in now is really small and you see the same people over and over. It's really weird. Well, it's weird to me because I'm not used to that. I took some college classes out here and when I registered for class I had to sit in a room with the locals. Well, the girls I was sitting next to were talking about everyone that came in...and I mean everyone. They knew a little too much about what was going on in these people lives...it's odd.

See, that's sooo weird a concept for me. A small town where everybody knows you and knows your business.
The smallest place I've ever lived had about some 350-400,000+ people in it.

I remember in the town where I grew up, the sign that had the population on it said 12,500. You pretty much knew everyone in town back then. That was around 1969 I think. Now it's nearing 70,000 people.

I don't just mean Quirk but everyone...It just seems when you're browsing through threads with alot of pages almost half the space is taken up by duplicated, quoted pics.etc. Just something I've noticed.
