this is and was a Store called CALDOR they were like a wal mart/target but only neatter then wal mart and cleaner bighter and nicer looking wal mart sucks and it there fualt this store went out Caldor closed at the end of the decaed 1999 :\'(

not only were discount chains were getting hurt but even stores like Montgomery Ward were starting to feel the compitshion from Wal Mart Wards as it was called in the late 90's filed for ch in 1997 and came out of it in 1999 but faled to make a come back and went out in 2001 Montgomery Ward was a lot like Sears Macys Or JCPenney but more like sears but cleaner and nicer

We had Ames around here as well, They used to be hills, then Ames bought hills out, now Ames is closed.

yet anouther chain to Fall apart to Wal Mart was Service Merchandise in 1999 the company filed for ch 11 and never had a chanse to come back they closed in 2002 but the early and mid 1990's were a good time for them they are now an online store Wards/Montgomery Ward did that to. Service Merchandise was more like a Sears Macys type store

Me and my honey on our wedding day in 1999 at Mission Beach in California. We thought it'd be a good idea to get married at sunrise. I was freezing to death. Who knew it could get so cold in the morning on the water?? I really shoulda checked that out first!! LOL!!!

During the summer of 1995, my roommate (left) and I went out drinking a lot, mostly to these bars around Restaurant Row. It's weird how a photo from only 12 years ago can look so 'retro' - the clothing, hairstyles.etc. Which one were you Brian? And what happened to that second photo? Looks like it wasn't treated very kindly...

I'm towards the middle in the blue sweater with that big head of black hair, lol. Yeah the 2nd photo like many of my photos was kept in a wet enviroment and got kind of ruined.

Thanks all...I was 18 in that picture; by then I didn't really consider myself a "kid" anymore. The occasion was my mom's 47th birthday; we spent the entire day at Disneyland; a friend of my mother's -- who had joined us there -- took the picture. :)

I had a moustache from about my senior year of high school 'till the early nineties. Every place I worked had a 'no facial hair' rule...
Present employer excepted and I take advantage of it. There have been times I walked in there looking like Rip VanWinkle. Someone would joke and ask me if I was one of the 9/11 hijackers that didn't make the trip... :D

They should be. They carry a lot of electronics. It may be a more economical choice to buy a scanner/printer combo, as I think buying a scanner alone would be about the same price you could get for both. I have a combo scanner/printer by HP.

I post all of these because I've worried they've deteriorated or degraded (the quality of the pix) and I wanted your honest opinions. They were in a damp, moist basement in a drawer for several years before I rescued them, and their degradation kind of makes me sad. :\'(

Maybe their storage in the basement was a factor. I have plenty of pictures from those years, and plenty of 'em way before that, and they're still in good condition. However, some of my family's photos from the 1970's are showing their age.

That's ironic. My family's 70s photos, and my dad's 80s photos (both of which were stored elsewhere) look better in many instances than the ones from the mid-late 90s. All of the stuff from '90-'94 wasn't in the basement, and it's so-so (1990-1992 is meh, but that's cause we had a crappy, cheap camera), whereas the stuff from 1993 to 1994, and some '95 stuff is great. It's mostly 1995-1999 that's crappy.
Yet I have a bunch of photos from 1972, 1973 that look great for their age; some even look brand new.

You can store your pictures in plastic to preserve them from yellowing.

With decent scans, a little photoshop freshens-up washed-out photos...
I scanned what little remains of my old piccys at high res, fixed 'em and put 'em on a disc...

Looking a page back at your 1994 photos it looks like that could have been a time when you grew a lot and developed a different style. For me that was 89-90 when I was 13. One morning I just said no more choir boy cut and shocked everyone on the school bus.

Nice photos.
I found some more of me. First two are from January 1998, at my dad's house. The brown coat is still my favorite coat and I still wear it. Last one is from summer 1999, dressed up at a fancy restaurant with a bunch of family.

Thanks! When they first started they were racy adult pictures. Then they became more family friendly.

Glamour Shots did a good job bringing out the "Glamour"! I had some shots done (in 1992) as did a couple of my friends. I was pleased with them.

From the insignia on the placard in front, I would guess Jaguar, but that's probably not right. The circular insignia, on the car itself, I can't tell for sure which manufacturer it is.

Ok, ok, the story about the car. We were in California when Carlos' sister lived there. We went out to eat with her, Carlos' cousin and his wife. When we left the restaurant and was going to the car, there in the parking lot was that beautiful Jaguar. Carlos' cousin told me to go and pretend that the car was mine-and that is what I did when he took the pic.
The kicker was the valet told us that he had the keys to the car and wanted to know if we wanted to sit it in. I was a bit taken aback because it wasn't the valet's car to make that offer. It is one thing to take a pic of the car (if you notice, I didn't even touch the car) but it is another to actually sit in the car while the owner was in the restaurant and not knowing that someone he (assuming it is a he) didn't know. Of course we decline.
Carlos' cousin did own a Jaguar. I never did get to ride in it but Carlos did-but his cousin wouldn't let him drive it. ;D

Not very. After student teaching (where this pic was taken), I finished up my undergraduate degree (and got my teaching certification) and went on to my graduate work. Since I was in school, I only subbed for a few years. I then moved in with Carlos and realized that I didn't HAVE to work so I stopped subbing and never really thought about looking for a full-time teaching position after that. Of course my teaching certification has run out. I did renew it for a few years until I said why bother. I was just spending money on something I was never going to use.
