Subject: Genre Hero Round 1 - 90s Alternative (EXTENSION UNTIL 12-14-09)

This is the first round of the Genre Hero contest. Enter your parodies from the days of flannel and angst here!
Rules:
1. Post the link (and YouTube if you want) to the parody and original song
2. Voting begins 4 weeks after this thread was made
3. ............ I forgot what Rule 3 was
4. The voting thread will further explain voting, but expect it to be similar to other contest votings
5. Late entries are accepted until the first vote is cast
Possible artists:
Nirvana
Soundgarden
Alice In Chains
Weezer
Reel Big Fish
These aren't the only artists. If in doubt, ask!
Edit: I'm giving you guys an extra week. I already have a parody for this round (Salesman), so I'm not doing it for myself.

He exploded. Nah, I'm kidding. That's my stock reply whenever someone asks where someone is. If they're looking for something, my reply is "I ate it". Fun times.
I will be entering this round. I'm kinda busy with my Dec3 Round5 entry, though. If I run outta time, I could do a Conqueror-non-SOTM-or-ABC-contest-first and (shock) enter something I didn't write specifically for it (haven't done that since the first Artistry round...yeah, that long ago).

But they never said that they were going to and I don't think that giving us another week is going to change that.

I'm not saying whether or not I want to enter, I am undecided, I don't want to enter unless we have more entrants. . .that's why I've waited myself. I like the idea, and I personally think it's a good idea to extend the deadline rather than having a three person competition--there's no point in a three person competition--which is why I haven't entered. Right now there are so many competitions that I think it's diluting the contests overall--so perhaps keeping the deadline somewhat revolving (especially with Decathlon3 still going) is a good idea--there is no reason to ever rush a competition just to make it happen when waiting and being patient can garner more competitors. I don't know about other people--but I know I prefer to compete against a larger field where I can get more input on what to improve and what's going right on my work. Especially with a contest that has such an open entry field as the genre "Alternative"
