Arwen - the masks are Guy Fawkes masks. November 5th is Guy Fawkes Day, where the British remember some kind of plot to blow up Parliament. Guy got the blame so people blow dummies of him up with fireworks. Somethin' like that. These days, the masks are more connected with the internet group Anonymous' use of them in protests against Scientology...kinda fitting for this round, methinks :D!
