There is no Thursday August 21st, that's Friday, The voting thread says the 21st, does that mean that Friday the 21st is the deadline, or do you mean Thursday the 20th is the deadline. . .Guy, get that calendar ready :D

Not giving you a hard time, but it does cause confusion buddy.  All contests are run on this board where people can vote up until the end of the day in which the deadline is, so it's important that the deadline be precise. 

What Dave said. It's hard enough getting the deadline right with the timezones messing it all up, setting the date as a date that doesn't exist doesn't help. No offense, mate - consider this a slap-on-the-wrist, not a whack-over-the-head-with-a-crowbar (that comes later).

In other news: six contestants? Is that an all-time low for ABC? Or is there some round in ABC's early history that I wasn't there for that had less?

OK Jack - I will do as I promised and consider rescinding my negative acknowledgement of my 3rd place podium.  OK, I considered it and I think I'll still not accept it.  Just jerking your chain - things are going to stay the way they are no matter what I say or how I feel.  Giving the DQ's a reprieve is a fair compromise in my book, so I will accept your congrats, Jack and thanks for getting into this round.   I am extremely pleased to see your entry here.  Lets hope the others who wish to contend get their entries in before deadline which would please me even more.   Back to normal now (whatever that is) I hope.

I know it is way past the extended deadline but is anyone going to vote on this round?  I'm hanging back on the voting just in case but I have already commented, voted and selected my choices.  I just don't want to vote and slam the door shut on those we have been waiting on to respond.  A negative response is better than no response from those we are waiting for.  So what say Dave?  Are you going to let anyone else in at this late date?  I know - the rules - but this round has been one of exception to the rules.  Please rule.

Well I might be wrong here, but I think I'm the last voter, and there's actually still 24 hours left to vote after I place my vote, if that holds, I think this will be the first time a full sized contest in my time being here had all mandatory voting completed before the final day. . .

My votes may seem interesting to some people, but I left very detailed, very intimate comments this round.  I got real laughs out my top 4, 5th was difficult, In the end, Melanie Lee gets my honorable mention--just because I did laugh with the number 5 a bit more, even if I felt the references could have been stronger.  some of the things I said this month, I hope I didn't offend anyone with my honesty, I'd be happy to expand on any comment in private. . .lots of good entries, but alas here are my votes.

1 Point to Matthias (See the comment, this was funny, but some of the lines really didn't fit the Simpsons, personal opinion, but it's not easy to take a secondary character, like Nelson, and do a somewhat difficult OS like Thnks fr th Mmrs. . .so overall good job)

2 Points to Stu (This one had a sense of belonging with the OS you targeted, the only thing is I do wish it had maybe a line or two to push it over the top, but still really liked this one)

3 Points to Red Ant (Despite the well mentioned choruses, this one hit a subject I feel strongly about, so I really enjoyed it, I also really liked the way it was paced to the OS that it was done to, which I felt was a difficult, somewhat lengthy, song that hasn't really been hit yet)

4 Points to Guy DiRito (This one was really good all around Guy, one of my favorites by you, this is one of those cases where the bad grammar made it work instead of made it awkward, and that alone kinda got me laughing, I also seem to have a soft spot for weight parodies as I tend to like a little extra weight in the middle. . .so kudos)

5 Points to Leo Keough (It's tough to rock an OS that has been hit like this one has, use lines from the original, and take on something so serious and so political and come out shining, for that reason, and because if recorded I think this would get the most air time, Leo you definitely earned my top spot this month)

HM to everyone else as well, Mel, yours was technically great, I really wish I knew more about the story you were referring to, but other than when I was staying at a friends house, I never really watched Jeopardy, much less one contestant or his dominance, so it kind of went over my head--but I'm sorry I ran out of point because you nearly got in just on the clever rhymes.
