Mine is "Guys From the Shire," because Middle Earth culture is the BEST culture there is. ;)

AND...there are about 3 million versions of the OS on youtube...(3 million or about 8...not sure)...but none of them paces even close to the same...or that well with my parody. BUT...the link below provides the version that I worked with...if you want to leave it instead of a youtube link, Matty.

I found this on The Internet last night and the weirdest thing I've ever seen.

I thought some of you might get a kick out of it...

That is pretty weird... I wish my parodies were that popular in Thailand

Hmm, hope people in Thailand understand English? I didn't see a credit to you on there, unless I missed it, there should be a credit on there to you.

I guess the good news is that poeple like it. I tried following some links from the base angellyrics site to see who 'owns' or 'maintains' the blog. I ended up at a dead link to "http://www.huahin-online.com/huahin-online.com".
When I stripped away the second section, I was left with http://www.huahin-online.com/ which seemed to be a hotel website. It might be fruitless, but you could e-mail someone on that site and ask if they know who maintains the blog, since their link is used and credited on blogthailand.net, which apparently is the host for this angellyrics site.
See, I don't understand who on earth you'd talk to about the miriad of blogs that exist. I don't think anyone 'maintains' them. Makes it hard to enforce anything, but also makes it almost impossible for anyone to use something like that to ever claim ownership of your work in a legal sense. I think some more good news is that in several days, your parody will be pushed down the list off of the front page of that blog and will be forever buried in the blog's history.
It's happened to me and several other authors I know of. I'd just keep any eye on it from time to time, just so you stay aware of it.

Totally crazy, for sure.
In response to 2nz, though...maybe I'm naive or too easy going...but I don't see what the big deal is, as far as wanting to "talk to" someone about it...or even being bothered by it. I've seen my own stuff on other people's sites, and as long as they don't say "I wrote this," then I don't care. Maybe I missed it...but I didn't see where the blogger claimed ownership to the lyrics. (I did freak out, though, when some girls performed one of Jeff's parodies on youtube, once...for some reason that was crossing a different line, in my opinion) People post news stories and/or other bits of info from the web on their blogs all the time. I don't think they are claiming ownership to those posts...it's just something they wanted their blog readers to see. Also, I don't know why it is good news that the parody will be "buried" in a few days. Is it "bad" news that the parody is posted there now? How so? I mean...I get that we'd all like the be credited for our work...but if 15 people in Thailand don't know that an anonymous American parody writer, aptly named Invisible Boy, wrote those lyrics...is it really THAT big of a deal?
I guess I shouldn't speak for others...but I, for one, am generally flattered when I find my stuff on another site...regardless. Giving credit to "Arwen" is great...but at the end of the day...you all are the only people in the world who know me as "Arwen" anyway. If people not associated with the site see my stuff on a blog...and see that "Arwen" wrote it...that means nothing to them. I suppose that the people who post under their real names might have more of an argument...but if you're posting under the veil of anonymity, as I do...and as many of us do...how much credit can non-Amiright folks, on the other side of the world, give you?
Okay...that's my two cents...rant over. :)

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm not all that worried about copyright issues.
What really blew my mind was...
1.) Who the heck is reading this stuff in Thailand ? (am I surprised...yes Siam)
2.) It looks like it was put into some sort of "translation" program..for example look at the last line
"Now, I identify how my betrothed got gonorrhea And, it’s released a uncommon burden.from my care for."
I mean...It was already in English !!!
Too funny

Once again... I'm the first to vote....
5 Points: Jeff's Grandma (Very funny, fit lifestyles very well... Being old is a lifestyle for sure and to one of the best 50's songs out there. All in all just lots of fun with this one Jeff)
4 Points: Melanie's Gay Pride (This one was great! Fit cultures probably the best out of all of the above songs and had some really funny lines to boot)
3 Points: 2nz's World Of Culture (The most Epic 50's song there is... Even if the original isn't actually from the 50's but more like sometime in the 1800's. Anyways this was a way of taking one of your classics and reworking it to make it better. Just like what I did)
2 Points: Arwen's Lord Of The Lifestyles (A culture that didn't even cross my mind, and if it did I probably would have written about something of the same nature... Maybe Jedis or something but that's thinking outside of the box and I can respect that)
1 Point: Below Average Dave's Going To Hollywood (As I said this one wasn't LOL funny but it left a special place in my heart because I myself am attempting to be an upcoming actor and so are a lot of my close friends)

:o Wow! I had a tough time opening up this window to post! It's as if God or the Devil or some supernatural force didn't want to me to vote. Oh, I know...it's Dobby!
Anyway, I switched machines in this Internet cafe and now I'm ready. I evaluated the songs last night, but ran out of time to post my votes.

Ha ha, I like close finishes. Congratulations Melanie, you enjoy those gays. And congrats Jeff. I think it's kinda cool that the Author of the Year in 2008 and the author of the Song of the Year in 2008 are sharing the same spot on a podium. It amuses me.
Fun round everyone. People danced with grannys, tried for Hollywood stardom, met some short guys in hobbit holes, lost limbs to biker rages, went gay-watching, played WOW and got gonorrhea. What else could u want in a tournament?
Only sad part is it's almost over.
