Ages of Amiright
Round 8
Topic: Danger And Adventure
Half-Decade: 1975-1980

(Didn't feel like going into a long winded speach about the topic and decade, but there you have it. Have fun with it! Hint: Think Indiana Jones)
Here are the few rules that this contest has...
1. Make sure that your song has something to do with the topic (That's why it's there for)
2. Make sure your song is from that half decade (If you don't know ask)
3. Make sure that you get it done in the time limit given (Which is two weeks from today)
4. Make sure to post it here when it's uploaded on Amiright
5. Have fun with it
Deadline: April 8th

That's a full decade...is that intentional? I'm fine if it is...just want to make sure.

After a squiz on top40db, I have decided to take on 'Action' by Sweet (the same artist that I did for the first Ages Late 70's round, IIRC). It shall be called: 'Inaction'! Or 'Anti-Action'. Something about making fun of people who jump headfirst into adventure/certain doom.

;) I'm "claiming" The Chain by Fleetwood Mac (1977). You'll see the results soon enough! :o

Here's my shameless placeholder. It's shameless because of the plug that this post and the song make: it was the sixth in a six-parody tribute I did a long time ago for LOTR. This one just so happened to be from the right time-frame. Hopefully I have something else by entry time.

Well this sucks. I have two days and I'm coming up dry from every well I try. :\'(
I'm not asking for an extension...I've said before that I think people should be able to adhere to deadlines...I'm just whining a little bit. :)

Howsabout
"Slayin' Some Guys" to "Stayin' Alive"
It could be a mid evil story to save a Princess (you could name her Arwen). . .

I'm working on "Arwen is a Loser" to the tune of "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zepplin.
Just kidding :) Especially since I think that was well before 1975? But by posting this, I hope to have something done tonight. I mean, what kind of loser would I be if I didn't? :)
Oh man I'm a loser. I get it...
And because I'm such a loser, I have started and given up on at least 5 parodies about the totally adventurous and dangerous world of being a Spy...a la Sydney Bristow...who I really wish I were.
Then I watched a couple tries about my dream life of being partners with Jack Bauer fall flat on their faces, too. All worthy ideas...all flops on paper. :-[ I don't get it. I LOVE 70s music. I just kept hitting a brick wall though... >:(
Anyway...as I said before...I'm coming up empty. I've decided to enter this one...in which there is the TINIEST amount of adventure/exploration/hint of potential danger. I mean...it's a stretch...I know. And I ordinarily wouldn't have considered it for this topic. Sadly though...I'm desperate. If inspiration strikes...or my 24 muse suddenly comes through this evening...I'll replace the entry in the morning. But I'm not too hopeful. Sadly.
Anyway...here you go...

Oh PHEW...
Crisis averted.
Matty...disregard my previous entry...(I've deleted the post anyway)...
I finished something that is much more fitting to the topic...and it should be up tomorrow. It's not the best thing I've ever written...but I really wanted to write something specific to the assignment...so it's a victory for me. Hee hee. Anyway...I'll post a link in the morning.
