Ages of Amiright: Part 2
Round: 2


Our second topic is a fairly easy one, but challanging in the aspect that it's hard to make these parodies very original and not seem like the same old, same old thing that you've read one hundred times before. That of course is "Food And Weight" and can be a mix of anything from a major entree, to dieting, to cooking, ect. and so forth.

Our second half-decade is the late 80's. "1985-1990" to be exact. Once again if you don't know any songs from this decade check them out here www.top40db.com, or make sure to check Wikipedia before you enter it.

Here are the few rules that this contest has...

1. Make sure that your song has something to do with the topic (That's why it's there for)
2. Make sure your song is from that half decade (If you don't know ask)
3. Make sure that you get it done in the time limit given (Which is two weeks from today)
4. Make sure to post it here when it's uploaded on Amiright
5. Have fun with it

Damn. Nothing in my catalog with these parameters. Now I have to write something.  ::)

This is too funny...I have a song that fits perfectly...but was released (in the US) on December 31st, 1984  Lol (it was released worldwide in January 1985 but I'll write something else anyway)   :)

In the meantime, here's my placeholder:

...which means I'll have to write something again...maybe I'll scour my Tears for Fears collection, such as it is... ???

I'm going to work on parodying, "Talk Dirty To Me" by Poison for this round, because it's one of my favorite all-time songs, and I haven't parodied it yet.

I'll come up with something I mean I have two weeks to think about it.....  ::)

Coming tomorrow (I'm fast, aren't I?) - a tale of a man with NO FOOD TO EAT. I bring you "Stuck Here Without Food"! Then maybe you too shall know what it's like to be stuck on an island...

Looking throught the years on the sight Matthias recomended (cool site Matthias    ;)) There is a bountiful supply of songs  to choose from...

There are so many titles that can be parodied with food! this is gonna be fun!

One quick note: The way you posted the year, we technically have a window of six years to choose from (1985, '86, '87, '88, '89, '90). I'm not complaining, and the previous round was the same way. I guess my question is: will we always have a window of six years rather than five for each half-decade? I would be in support of that. It means years divisible by 5 would be valid at two different times, but it would also make it that much easier to find a song that works for every author's style and taste.

I'm pretty sure I have one already, but I'll have to look later when I have more time, I may write another one anyway--I LOVE food & weight parodies, and I love late 80s--both go over well with my fans YAY!

Most of the time we'll have 6 years to choose from except for the round of 2005-2008, that will only give us 4 years to choose from making it a harder round.

Due to this being the Christmas Holiday, I'll extend this round by another week... So the deadline is now 1/7/09

I got 2 food related parodies coming tomorrow... "Damn Tofu Turkey" to Poison's "Talk Dirty To Me", and "Hot Chili I Fried" to Guns N Roses's, "Sweet Child O' Mine"...

Don't know which one I'm going to go with yet.

Hee...no.  The heckling would be kept to a minimum.  I would be too happy to heckle. 

I've actually never been to Disney World...but Disneyland is pretty much my favorite place ever...so...I think it's a safe bet that I'd be in superhappy overload.  :)

Since the two parodies I wrote yesterday kinda flopped as far as votes and comments go, and I need to get it done for the Epic 40 anyways, I'm going to do another late 80's Fat Parody called, "I Just Flattened The Scale With My Fat Ass" to REM's "It's The End Of The World As We Know It" about a guy who keeps gaining weight no matter what he does.
