Anyway, one rule, I realize some people parody parodies, I however do not count parodies of parodies as parodies of the parody but as a parody of the original song.  (How many times can one say 'parody' in a sentence)  That is my stance and the stance of many other parodists.  A cover is one thing, because it can be distinctively different, however a parody of a parody would not likely be recognized as so by a listener if a song were to be recorded because 99 times out of 100, the original song is far more popular than it's parody counter-part, while I won't outright reject parodies of parodies for this round, I can say ahead of time you will be putting yourself in one heck of a pickle by choosing a parody to target instead of one of his many equally funny originals. . .speaking of which, here are some of those originals:)

Do authors have to be in a previous artistry round to participate, or can you jump right in? And is there a time-frame for the parodies submitted, or can I submit any parody so long as it was written and submitted before the deadline?

This might be the excuse i need to do two things: get back into writing more, and finally fail miserably at 'hardware store'. I hope it's epic, whether it's epic or not.

Also, BAD, I'll be around a computer for the next couple of months which includes the next few weeks. If you need help with anything related to runny any contests while you're moving, just PM me.

The Weird Al Yankovic Entry Deadline has been delayed until further notice as has the remainder of the Artistry, I am currently searching for housing--at the time I have located a more permanent address and am not relying on several other people's computers, I will return the contest to normal.

I hope you guys understand, This contest is my baby, I don't want to delay it--but I have no choice at the moment, This particular situation is more than difficult to deal with.

Thank you everyone for your concerns, and I've got somewhat good news. . .

I have found a temporary solution to my problem that should keep me with daily access to the internet, it's not permanent, but hopefully I'll find something soon enough . . .my credit is much worse than I thought, bad enough to actually make finding a home very difficult, my current temporary situation could seriously improve the likelihood of me paying off some of that bad debt.

I apologize for how long this round has been delayed, the deadline has been set for one week from today, It's normal running cycle back where it belongs, and at that time the next artist (Round 37) will FINALLY be drawn. . .

I'm not at my home computer for one,

for two I haven't had computer access consistently for a long time.

I love my Artistry competition Matthias, but damn Matthias, give me a break. . .I just got back--I'm trying to get something done, maybe I'll post the contest on Monday, but I postponed making a deadline for a reason, I cannot host a competition with no internet access--you know enough about my situation to know what I'm going through that I'd think you'd be a little more understanding. . .in fact you know EVERYTHING about my situation, so please-I'm asking politely, give me a break.  It's not like I've done this to any other round, but I just moved into my current living situation, and I'm out of state on work--it's hard enough to adjust, but please give me until at least Monday--I don't know what date I'll be back in town, but I can't draw the next artist prior to that.  I'm sorry but some things I really cannot control--I've got to stabilize my life right now. . .I don't need to have stress over a hobby. . .

Hey Dave, I know your pain. You want stress? These times are pretty crummy for anything to do with finances right now, right? Well...I work at a bank. We're getting it from both ends: people coming in wondering if we're going to go belly-up, and then from the higher ups who want us to sell crap to the people wondering if we're going to go belly-up.
