I don't have any Z parodies... And I kinda failed when I tried to do one for the X-Round so I'm skipping out on this one. See you guys in the symbols and numbers.

I don't have a "z" song, and I tend not to write songs specifically for ABC (Though I wish I could have an entry for each and every round)

What I'd like to suggest if there is an ABC5 is perhaps some of the less popular letters get combined. . .

Specifically
J and K becomes one round
Q and R becomes one round
U and V becomes one round
X, Y and Z becomes one round

or even all letters are combined into 13 rounds + the Others round (numbers, symbols etc)

C/D
E/F
G/H
I/J
K/L
M/N
O/P
Q/R
S/T
U/V
W/X
Y/Z

Again, that's just an idea, I'm throwing it out there because too many contestants have 'retired' in recent months and it's hurting participation in virtually every contest, some newbies have come along to help out--but not enough.  The contests have maintained their competition level in my opinion, but perhaps a change would spark things up. . .these two ideas would probably increase average participation per round significantly

Or perhaps coming up with a new contest for classics all together instead of continuing ABC upon the end of this series (it has had a 5 series long run since Ethan first started it) I think maybe some people are just running out of letter ideas--I have other classic based contest ideas I'm willing to share if anyone's interested, but for now I'll just let my suggestion here be my suggestion.

I'd like to see a contest where it would be like SOTM but on a bi-weekly basis where writers could enter any song in their portfolio, regarless of beginning letter or ruled to be written within a certain time span, except that it has not been written within the last two weeks of submission.  In other words the writer may use any parody at all that is over two weeks old.  It could be called "The Dusty Archives Competition".

Guy has a point. It has sometimes been frustrating waiting for the appropriate time to submit good songs for contest recognition in ABC, sometimes a whole year.

Thanks Agri for your agreement on this matter.  I put the motion out and you, by your comment, I will take as a second to the motion.  So - lets roll on the idea folks.  And Ag - I do have a point but I keep my hat on and no one notices.  :D  ;D  ;)

I think that's a great idea, I also think songs which have won a podium in any of the prominent competitions should not be allowed in such a competition (as it defeats the purpose of what you state)

"Classics Competition" with the rules being just like any other competition voting etc, except that the song must be over one month old and not have placed within the top 3 of any other competition listed (SOTM, ABC, Artistry, Ages, Decathlon 1 or 2)

BAD - Thanks for your input and I agree with these rule propositions.  I'm starting a thread on the matter in order to get it off this thread.  So please all respond to the new thread as soon as I can get it posted.  I'm still drafting it at this point.

I'm for anything about combining letters in this comp like "PQ" or "QR" and "XYZ"  Or we could really make it interesting and use the letter combos that are on the phone dial.  That would be one cycle every 9 rounds if you count the phone dial combos and songs that begin with symbols and numbers.  A question - after the "Z" round ends do we get to choose a parody for comp that begins with a symbol or number before it flips around to "ABC5A"?
