Subject: POTQ (Formerly POTM) Entry Thread (Dec 07, Jan 08, Feb 08, Mar 08)
Written By: skittlesking on 04/01/08 at 12:19 am
Remember, NO DQ's in this contest, but those who do vote in the round gets 10 points if they are in the contest. . .and ANYONE involved in contests may vote even if they can't enter.
As talked about when December had to roll over. . .2008 will revert to POTQ, which is Performance of the Month based on season. . .one exception will be made for this first one, we will accept December of 2007 performances as well because there was no POTM at that time due to lack of contestants.
Since it's a new contest some rules have changes, I made them BOLD for this round.
Rules for this contest
1. Any Performance submitted during December 2007, January 2008, February 2008 or March 2008-- is eligible
2. All Entrants must enter by April 7, 2008 at 11:59pm EST
3. Voting will end April 30th, 2008 at 11:59pm EST
4. All Entrants must vote and comment on the recordings entered by the above date
5. All SOTM entrants past and present are eligible to vote whether they enter this contest or not
6. All ABC1,2 or 3 entrants are eligible to vote whether they enter this contest or not
7. Once you enter a recording contest, you are eligible to vote in future comps whether or not you enter
8. Failure to vote by the deadline will result in forfeit of your points
9. All Prior POTM or POTQ entrants are WELCOME TO VOTE
10. Songs which primarily feature a vocalist different from the writer, where the vocalist chooses to enter his/her own song are not elligible
(Please note, this is because it was impossible for me (Below Average Dave) to fairly, and unbiasedly vote when half the entries featured my own vocals--and it wasn't fair to other entrants)
11. Once You've Voted, You can not change your vote UNLESS your vote was invalid
12. In the event of a tie, the song with the most 1st place wins
If it is still tied, 2nd place
If it is still tied, 3rd place
If it is still tied, a Tie Breaker for one week into the following month will be held
Only the Top 3 require a tie breaker.
13. You can't vote for your own song
14. You can't vote for another song more than once in the same contest
15. If a song is entered that has a different primary vocalist than the writer, and it is not invalid under Rule #10 because the vocalist agreed to it, then it will be listed as a joint entry (IE Robert Lund & Spaff.com) and both may vote, but to be fair--only one has to. Neither the vocalist or the writer can vote for their joint entry under any circumstance
16. In the event that less than 6 songs are entered, we will allow two entrants per performer (Rule 15 would count as one entry for both the writer and vocalist). If that happens, you cannot vote for either of your own songs still. (If you want to be safe and make sure you get another entry if this rule comes into play, please mention your official entry and your secondary choice in your entry post)

"Do You Really Want To Burn Me"
http://www.badave.com/parodies/parody.php?st=146
(It's been number 1 on Badave for about a week now, so it has to be good)
All the other songs I've done so far aren't really all that good with pacing issues so I won't have a secondary entry.

Thanks for getting round to this, Dave. I've not had much (well, any) time for recording recently, though I may try taking a camera along to an open mike to see if I can get a decent video..
Though I think I've got something submitted for December. Will have a look some point soon.

What is proving to be my most popular YouTube video... not surprising with all those Heroes fans out there, I guess.
