Top choice gets 5 points, next gets 4 points and so on to 1 point for your fifth favorite.

~~You're not allowed to vote for your own song.

~~Once you've posted a vote, you're not allowed to change it.

~~Voting continues until midnight, February 29th.

~~Anyone who's participated in a SOTM contest past or present may vote. Those not entering Wildcard are positively encouraged to support the entrants with votes.

~~Anyone who enters but does not vote by the end of the designated period is disqualified and may not participate in February SOTM

I believe so...I think your 3rd place finisher is automatically eligible for SOTY

Just to clarify Jeff was right on both answers

Mikey, you are in SOTY by virtue of your podium, the WildCard is intended for contestants in SOTM who did not have a song place in the top 3 during the year, often a parodist will have several "Close Calls" in tough months that may have resulted differently depending on voters tastes etc. . .I am eliminated from SOTM WildCard for the same reason (I have one 3rd place finish with Antartican Terrorist that gets an entry for me into the SOTY contest)

Invisible Boy, any song that you have done in 2007 is eligible because you entered into December's SOTM, and did not podium, because you entered at least one round and did not podium in 2007, you may enter this contest to try to get an entry into the annual Song of the Year competition which consists of the 12 months Top 3 Winners and the Top 3 WildCard entrants representing the best songs of the year

Traditionally The WildCard Contest ends up as important as any SOTM, it was my first SOTM podium and Kristof's as well . . .it has been the kick off point for many parodists in the past as it often allows parodists to get a song in that may have been really strong in a month that another song was chosen, we all have the "what if I had chosen this song" go through our minds, and this is a perfect chance to test another song. . .
