Hmm... now, depending on how you define "slow songs", I think I have a handful that would fit... what about "Bridge over troubled water"?  this one has been around a while without being entered into any competitions

Just out of curiosity, Matty... why is it in every round, no matter what the topic is, you always use a sports picture at the top of the thread. I must be missing something here.

It's a tradition from the original Decathlon.

It's a tradition from the original Decathlon.

OK, gotcha. I wasn't in the original one. I will, however, try my best to to get in this round, once I get things sorted out in my life. I need to make a comeback soon!!

How slow is slow?

(Pity this genre isn't as epic as last times...ending a contest with a genre like 'Musicals' is all kinds of awesome)

Think School Dance.... The song where you're allowed to cop feels on hotties during mid-song and they think nothing of it... Know what I mean?
Think "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer, or "White Flag" by Dido.

Oh, THAT mush. I might have a whack at "White Flag" but I'll probably end up changing my mind. I will wait until I've written my Offspring parody, however.

I might have chosen a song only Matthias has heard...think on this, slow doesn't necessarily mean QUIET. ;)

Can you take a fast song, and just sing (or type) it really, really slow?  Or ask everyone just to read it 3 times slower than usual?

"Pink Cigarette" by Mr. Bungle?

"Pink Cigarette" by Mr. Bungle?

ooh, close, but no cigar...but I'll try that one if the first doesn't work out. In fact, I've been toying with the idea of parodying the whole album at some point. (apologies to everyone else who don't know what we are talking about ;D)

I kinda wanna see somebody pull off "November Rain" by Guns N' Roses... Or maybe I'll do it, but my mind is focused on either "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" or "Objects In The Rear View Mirror Appear Closer Than They Are" (one of the longest song titles EVER!) by Meat Loaf.

eh, too mid-tempo on these to be considered slow, IMHO. Meat Loaf's "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" or "Read "em And Weep" (covered by Barry Manilow, incidentally :) ) would be better, I think.

I'm gonna try to nail out another one of the Epic 40 with this contest, there's only 3 songs that would work... And one of them I already did... Which means I'm down to....

1. "Graduation (Friends Forever)" by Vitamin C

AND

2. "Frozen" by Madonna

We'll see what I come up with, "Graduation" would be the more impressive of the two, because "Frozen" isn't hard, it's just repetitious.

Done that... after seeing Stairway was on there, I was pondering doing U237 parody... but every time I think about it, I'm about half as inspired as I was before

Coming Soon....

"Not A Great Life A Mouse" to Meat Loaf's "Not A Dry Eye In The House"... From the point of view of a Lab Rat.

I do hope that there is a typo there, because otherwise it sounds like a grammar sacrifice parody (hint hint)

Had a cracking idea for a "I would do anything for love (But I won't do that)" sub: "Schroedinger's good at maths and stuff, but he don't like cats", but although I may complete it, I doubt it'll be in time...

Now that song is one of his faster songs... I don't know if it will really fit the genre...
It starts off as a slow song, but then it's like a rollercoaster of music... Slow... Fast... Slow... Fast

The slow part is more memorable for that song. . .I myself consider it a slow song as a general rule.

The choruses are slow... But the stanzas are fast... That's a hard call

I'll say my opinion is acceptable, but probably not a bread winner choice as it is borderline. . .

Dime in My Wife to Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) has been submitted.

I figured building a robot is as science dependent as you can get, and this particular robot will really turn some heads.
