I'm planning on parodying "Gin And Juice" by Snoop Dogg for this round, which is classified under "G-Funk" which is a genre of music that combines traditional funk music with rap.
(Although a song by Faith No More, or Red Hot Chili Peppers (which both fit under the genre of "Funk Metal") would also be fun to play around with).

Wow...writing a disco song about the night life? That's a stretch...
I mean...I love the night life. I got to boogie. On the disco round...
But...I'm sure I'm the only one... ;)

No Arwen, it's my life actually. . .dance more than disco, but I love groovy funky disco type beats too . . . you aren't alone, and the night life? Hah--in my life they go hand and hand

After taking a gander at the list of "Funk" artists, I've nailed it down to two bands that I want to take on.
1. Red Hot Chili Peppers
2. Faith No More

The good thing is, Jamiroquai has lots of awesome songs, and I love Jamiroquai parodies, well I'd imagine I would since not many have been done yet.

(We'll see what happens. Faith No More is fun, but I don't think it's epic enough to compete really well.)

Though I won't apply this outside of parody writing. . ."It's not the size of the ship, it's what you do with it". . .Antarctican Terrorists ring a bell?

BAD...I was just being WAY too sarcastic for my own good. There is actually a disco song, from which my little "I love the night life" thing came.

Haha well Arwen, though not big on disco as I said, I really am a nightlife kinda guy. . .I used to be in a business that only operated at night, and it's how I made my living--I enjoy a good beat, and singing is a huge passion too--and they all go hand in hand. . .So for me nightlife is a way of life (many of parodies are inspired by activities of 'nightlife' that really did happen, but then of course I magnify them 20 times over to get the effect of comedy I'm aiming for) I've heard the song you are referring to obviously. . .but yeah I didn't catch that one. . .so I suck at sarcasm AND singing :-[ Ah well, all is fun in the game of parody. . .

True but a bigger ship can hold more cargo, if you catch my wave.
(Why are we using nautical analogies?)

So "Vampire's Theme" is a true story then? ;)

All I'm saying is that I don't need to take a dingy when a large vessel is going to get more of an awe and fill more passangers with excitement.

No idea what constitutes "Disco/Funk" - would Pink's "Get the party started" do?
PS Haven't had much time round here recently (or to write parodies), but I'll try and get something off maybe at the weekend.

No, That's Pop/Dance according to Wikipedia.

Sorry I haven't been in the last few rounds, I've been having some personal issues that I'm working out, and just haven't had the time or creativity in me to write new parodies. I promise I'll back with a vengeance soon! ;)
