Hope you don't mind Dave if I take a step for you and give the splash page of Thin Lizzy videos...save you the trip of surfing and linking...
There's a plethora of tunes to choose from, and it all starts here:

If I can find a song other that "The Boys Are Back In Town" that doesn't sound unplugged, I might give this round a go.
I suppose basing a "Whiskey In The Jar" parody off of Metallica's version isn't in the spirit of the contest..

Hey Dave...
You still have to post the list of songs
Today's a holiday you can't use that lame "work" excuse today. ;)
Just messing around dude, but seriously MAKE THAT LIST!
Right now it just looks BAD

Cheeky sod...
I have decided to write a parody of 'Whiskey In A Jar'. No idea what I'll do with it. I'll think of something.

If Brokeback Mt. jokes were still funny "The (Gay) Cowboy Song" could be possible.
Sadly... Those jokes have died in their fashionable designer boots.

Thankfully we have 4 days left to write something for this, because today is a bad day for me, I've been really, really sick all day.
Anyways, I'll try to do this parody within the next few days, we'll see how I feel.

Eureka!
I found a Thin Lizzy song I can stand... (Perhaps it's because the person singing is Gary Moore, and Thin Lizzy is only a partner (back up singer, and guitar player) on this one, but since he's still part of it I'm going to work on this one. That counts... Right Dave?)

As I've stated in the rules before, Each artistry round is dedicated to the author indicated for that round. . .that includes any piece which is performed by, with or written by the artist indicated. . .
So yes, a featuring does count, HOWEVER, I must advise that some may hold that as taking an easy road out IF the style is significantly different from that of Thin Lizzy's style. . .but by the rules, I will accept it because it does include ANY song performed by, with or written by the artist in which a round is dedicated to.

So cover songs would work as well then?

So cover songs would work as well then?
Again, I will accept it (though for future reference those who cover a cover song won't work as it reverts to the original). . .but usually cover songs are significantly different than the original, but yes by rules. . .that's how Mikey Squirrel got his entry into the first round--however that technicality cost him in terms of where he finished in the standings for that round (many people--especially a Thin Lizzy fan who votes--may not consider the song as it isn't really Thin Lizzy)
BUT as per the rules, Yes, I would allow a cover because of how the rules were written, but doing so would probably not be wise--like I said, look at the ending results of Round 1 with Mikey Squirrel's entry. . .same general idea--he used a different version of a song that was in an animated movie--I only advise that as a last resort if you absolutely can't come up with anything by tomorrow night when you have to hit a deadline
I myself am a little lost on this one, but I will find something by Thin Lizzy I can parody.

I had a hard time with them too, so many of the tunes had interesting opening verses and choruses followed by limp conclusions that made it difficult to want to use them...not to say they didn't "rock", however. 8)

I did something I never do, so yeah definitely. . limp ending is a good way to describe them. . .For a hint as to what I mean, remember my parody about the deadly sin Pride, magnify it and focus it, that'll give you a good idea what I did to Thin Lizzy

Wow... You actually did a Thin Lizzy song?
Is it anything like Dave's for this round?
Or is it... "Masturbation" to "Dedication" (Something I know you could easilly take care of).

No, no sex theme and no dirty words!
(though the idea "Defecation" immediately came to mind when I heard TOS... a title I'll gladly put in my circular file bin).
I joked with Dave that "Dedication" is so lame I could probably pull a John Barry with it and have 200 of them by year's end. ;D
