Subject: Artistry Round 3 Entry Thread: The Rolling Stones
Written By: skittlesking on 05/17/07 at 3:40 am
The sad, but unique "Anybody Seen My Baby" was picked by my WMP. . .that means, Rolling Stones fans. . .it's time for your round! Enter by May 30th at Midnight EST (that's May 31st by 5am in the UK, 4pm in Australia or May 30th at 11pm in St. Louis, 10pm in Denver and 9pm in L.A.)

The Rolling Stones are one of the most famous rock bands of all time. Mostly famous for their 1960 music, they are also one of the longest lasting bands of all time. They have a huge collection of number 1 singles, and are still touring today. They also are known for the big tongue logo sticking out in bright red, and are never shy about their opinion. Despite everything they've been through, truth is they are among the top 5 artists in total album sales of all time, can't argue with that.

There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of great Rolling Stones songs, and I'm sure some of the ones submitted won't be on this list, but there is quite a bit to work from if you aren't familiar with them.

Here's my temporary place holder, "Titanic" to The Rolling Stone's hit "Paint It Black"
http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/therollingstones129.shtml
Although it's shoddy place so far in Ages of Amiright, I might be going with this song, because "Paint It Black" is my favorite song by The Rolling Stones.
(I may however start work on a Jumpin' Jack Flash parody, or "Calvin and Hobbes" to "Under My Thumb")

I have a paint it black parody too, but I'd rather write something new.
At least there arre plenty of options for this round.

Well, that's ok, now you know, it's an open contest like the ABC, it's not restricted at all, anyone may enter or skip rounds, it will affect their overall standings if they miss a lot. But you can even earn points in this just by voting. 3 points in a round you don't enter towards your overall total, and everyone who enters and votes will get 5 points added to their song's earned points. . .Don't worry, it's only Round 3, and that means there are 137 other artists to go, plenty of time to catch up--and as I said over in Ace of Base, technically it's not too late yet . . .no one has voted, and the entry deadlines includes a rule that allows for late entrys up to the date the first person votes. . .I made lots of little interesting changes like that one to my rules compared to the other contests.

I have two already submitted for Rolling Stones, one is "Pizza Burning" the other is "I Just Can't Get To Coruscant". I like them both, but I could always do a new one. Decisions, decisions. I'll have to get back on this one.

(I may however start work on a Jumpin' Jack Flash parody, or "Calvin and Hobbes" to "Under My Thumb")
I'd definitely go with the Clavin and Hobbes idea, partly because I love that comic, and partly because I want Paint It Black open so I can parody it!

Sorry Conquerer, I love my "Titanic" parody far too much to see it go to waste
So it looks like the "Titanic" is going to set out on one more voyage
Calvin and Hobbes are going to have to wait

Unfortunately the Calvin and Hobbes idea has been flushed...but the theme shall be reused! Instead of Calvin, it shall be Garfield! And instead of Under My Thumb, it shall be Ruby Tuesday!
Please don't kill me, Matthias.

wow, I can't believe all the work you've put into this Dave, with all those OS youtube links and all - I'll join in
this was one of my first amiright parodies, and I don't reckon I've read it again since posting day
I've also done a "Paint It Black" but I went with this because it'll probably be the only entry for the OS, so here goes
Tissue - to "Miss You"
good luck everyone and great job Dave :)
