Song Of The Month Contest

~~Entries begin after the last parody update of the month.

~~Any song that is posted on AmiRight during the contest month (this year) is eligible.

~~To enter, reply to this thread with the url of your entry.

~~On the eighth day of the month, entries close and voting begins.

~~Vote by replying to voting thread with your five favorites in order: 
Top choice gets 5 points, next gets 4 points and so on to 1 point for your fifth favourite.

~~You're not allowed to vote for your own song.

~~Once you've posted a vote, you're not allowed to change it.

~~Voting continues until the last day of the month ends.

~~Anyone who's participated in a SOTM contest past or present may vote.

~~By entering, you are agreeing to read and comment on all the other entries and vote.

~~Anyone who enters but does not both comment on all entries and vote by the end of the month is disqualified and may not participate next month.

~~When the new month begins, the first person to enter the next contest may copy this message and start the new entry thread with it.

~~Rule changes may be suggested by any participant in their entry post.  Changes are made only when a majority of that month's voters specify a "yes" vote along with their contest votes.

I REALLY need some help on this. I've had three parodies this month, but I don't think they're quite SOTM material. Two were for Ages - one OS is obscure, and the other I'm not happy with a bit of it - and the third is another Decepticon idiot entry...though of the more difficult 'Jesus Of Suburbia'. Which one to choose?!

I like your "The Who" parody that you used in Ages of Amiright, so I would say go with that one

Ethan...I do know of that recent cover. By Limp Bizkit, right? Do you know how HARD it is to find an MP3 of that song by The WHo and NOT Limp? 'Cause the songs are a bit different.

I think the main difference is that the limp  bizkit cover has "discover...L-I-M-P" a few times in the middle while the Who version has nothing like that...but you got the who video so that's good.

(for the record, I utterly DETEST Rush and cannot listen to Geddy Lee's voice without violently convulsing. And I thought listening to My Chemical Romance for Ages was bad...but I guess I'm no better with the length of my submission this month, and there might very well be a few Dylan-haters lurking in our ranks.)

RUSH is one of my favorite bands, but I do recognize that they are a polarizing group.  Few people are casual RUSH fans, they either love them or hate them.  Almost as polarizing as Rush Limbaugh

And I don't hate Dylan, but I never quite understood his popularity.  But please, let's not start the "Dylan is god" threads.  Everyone knows that Lemmy is god...

Awww.  :-* Geddy doesn't sound so much like Donald Duck on helium on Moving Pictures or thereabouts--that's the one album of theirs I have. Overall, you really can't deny the musicianship or the sophistication of the lyrics (when they gave up on songs about mythical trees and snow dogs ;D). Give them another shot.
