Kristof won?  Well, who'd a thought it...

Seriously, though, Kristof was in a league of his own last year: so many hilarious songs and every last drop of humour wrung from each subject.

Very well done Jack & Stu - no surprises there, either.  But biggest congrats, IMO, go to Cat after bursting onto the scene with some staggeringly good parodies, often choosing really rather tricky songs to parody.

I can't think of anything more clever to say than: GOOD JOB!  8)

I've just got off a plane from Marrakech (plenty of parody material there, folks!) and thought I'd just log on to see how things are going on amiright....so to read this has absolutely made my day. Cheers, guys and gals!

Honestly, it's a real honour to win Author of the Year. I know SOTM 2006 didn't feature a certain Mr S....com, but his absence in no way detracted from the quality of parodies put forward this year, and the stiffness of the competition.

First of all, congratulations and hats off to my fellow podium-fillers, Messrs Fletcher and McArthur: two powerhouses of parody writing. You two in particular have forced me to lift my game each month, and I thank you for that.

Special mention, of course, needs to go to our latest teen prodigy, Miss Cat O'Ninetails. Too much talent at such a tender age, and a future PAOTY if I've ever seen one. Well done, sweetie.

Pats on the back to young guys like conqueror, Charnstar, Matthias and Jack W: all who have just grown so much as writers.

Hey! What happened to the rule that stated that you got 1000 bonus points if you actually participated in all twelwe rounds? That'll make the podium Matthias gold, me silver and The Conqueror bronze! ;)

Jokes aside and congrats to the real podium aside, I'm actually bringing this up to say that I am gonna miss the February round of SOTM (might still read and vote though), hence the longest running consistency streak (that I'm pretty sure was in my corner of the ballpark) now belongs to one of those two guys. Keep it up guys! I'll hope to start another streak next month!
