Voting deadline for ABC3(R) is midnight (inthe00s "non-logged-in" time)     Wednesday February 28
No votes date-stamped after the voting deadline will be accepted - no exceptions


Vote by replying to this thread with your five favorites in order:

1st choice........5 points
2nd place.........4 points
3rd place..........3 points
4th place..........2 points
5th place..........1 point

or in algebraic terms, p = 6 - r     (p=points, r=rank)



RULES
- Any parody beginning with the current letter is eligible, except parodies that have been entered into ABC1 or ABC2
- You're not allowed to vote for your own parody
- Once you've posted a vote, you're not allowed to change it
- Anyone who's participated in any previous ABC contest may vote
- Any entrant who hasn't left a comment on all entries is disqualified and may not participate in the next letter
- Any entrant who doesn't vote by the voting deadline (above) is disqualified and may not participate in the next letter



ALSO
Under no circumstances will a vote that missed the voting deadline be accepted (even by 1 second)
However the resulting disqualification from entry to the next ABC3 comp may be over-ruled, if you do the following...

   1.  Post an "appeal" on this thread giving your excuse for missing the deadline, and plead for mercy
   2.  If your plea wins the sympathy of 3 other entrants your disqualification from the next round will be overturned
        Your late votes will still not count though 
        (if less than 4 entrants in the comp, only 2 sympathetic "Thumbs Ups" are required)

You know what, this comp was the TOUGHEST for me so far, because I had actually marked 7, yes 7 as favorites. . .not to mention secondary ones I write down in case I'm short on favorites. . .Um, I am having a lot of trouble picking which two to cut. . . .I'll be re-reading those 7 over the next 30 minutes, sorry about my delayed vote.

Ok Here Goes, I have to vote a top 5, but first I want to mention my dilema. . .

There were 7 that I debated on for awhile on what belongs here. . . the 5 I choose were by virtue of the info I always explain along with my vote.  This contest was really easy for me until. . .I got to the bottom half of the competition. . .

Before I get to the two that I regretfully had to cut, I also want to mention I sincerely enjoyed Michael Mcvey's Red Red @&& at Home, and also Red Ant with the Rambler, both of them were in strong consideration through the first half, and I can't believe I couldn't fit them in. . .

Now, the two really tough cuts. . .

7th place, Charnstar. . .Charnstar, this parody of yours about R2-D2 IS my favorite by you.   Point blank period. . .I happen to be a really big fan of R2-D2, the only character I liked from Star Wars being a non-star wars fan. . .ultimately I only had to cut it because I had to cut two, and this was a very tough choice

6th place, Jeff Reuben, Jeff you know I love your parodies to the utmost, and this one was far from an exception. . .I think it is in the same league as Cross-Eyed Girl, I had it as high as 2nd at one point (the winner I knew right when I saw it)  and I know it's kinda pointless mentioning my honorable mentions like this, but I've never had this kinda troubel choosing my winners. . . .

5th Place, 1 Point goes to Johnny D's Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans
This competition tested classic was nearly my 6th choice, but I ended up edging it in because it was just so inclusive all around.  I've never been a fan of Star Trek, but then I've never seen it in such a comedious light. . .the parody really got me chuckling, and I ended up just having to include it.

4th Place, 2 Points go to Agimorfee's Rogue
Vogue is such a vain song, and you really tuned it upside down and did so using one of my favorite X-Men characters from when I was younger.  I have always found her to very statuesque, and this parody really captured the character she presents very well.  I am beginning to get a certain liking for Agimorefee's work, and an even greater love for his cricitques, because when he doesn't like my work he is blatantly honest about it, and I really appreciate that. . .so I'm being blatantly honest here, this parody was awesome.

3rd Place, 3 Points go to Matthias' Rufus Was A Tv Nut
The 4th place and 3rd place songs were as interchangeable as the last three, this race was like the East Conference playoff race in the NHL, 2 locks and 5 great teams trying to get in. . .Matthias, you know I loved Rufus was a TV Nut, originally I figured I'd cut this one because I already gave it 5 in Ages, but then I thought about it and said, "I'm suppossed to be judging which parodies are the best, not what I've done in the past"  However many comps I see this in, it's a great parody, and deserves notation. . .so I notate it as one of my top 3 picks

2nd Place, 4 Points go to Rick Cormier's Rough Lolita, Beatin' Babe
This one is no different from Rick's usual masterful work.  I haven't seen Rick in a lot of comps, but having been a fan since I first discovered him on Soundclick, I couldn't help myself but getting into this one.  Though I don't think he's recorded this one, just the imagery, the beauty, oooooooooohhhhhhhh Rick. . .your parodies are terribly funny. . .and frankly I can't believe you haven't been signed by some off the wall record label looking for dirty comedy by a stand up guy.

STU MCARTHUR and his Really Really Pissed
I don't need to say a whole lot here, except good lord what a parody.  Stu, your podium finish for 2006 did not come as a surprise to me at all.  Your work has always been funny and smart at the same time.  Although I know this was a "Drunk" parody, it would have been funny either way.  The use of Australian slang, and taking the time to explain it to us. . .that was thoughtful and then reading it knowing what it was about really made me get into it.  I love your work and hope that I get to read something by you in almost every comp I enter in the future. 

I haven't been involved in many competitions for a while. This was both fun and difficult. As usual, there were some I thought deserved to be in the top 5 that I couldn't put there. Anyway, this is what I thought...

Congratulations to Rick, Johnny and Stu (a parody of "Shake, Rattle and Roll" perhaps  ???).

Thanks Stu for putting up the results here as well. Truth of the matter is that, occasionally, I'm Gregorianly Challenged, and switching work hours from days to evenings (as well as getting together the SOTY thread) has made me lose track of time. Plus, I always forget February has 28 days.  :D
