Ages of Amiright
Event Three
Time: 1995-1990
Topic: Places of the World
http://www.acidimaging.com/blogpics/90s.jpg
The Rules
1. Entry URLs to be posted onto this thread from the Amiright site
2. Entries must conform to both the topic and time specifications...if in doubt, ask.
3. Topics are not limited to the decade, they are two seperate parts
4. On Feburary 27th the entries close and the voting begins
5. Vote by replying to voting thread with your five favorites in order:
Top choice gets 5 points, next gets 4 points and so on to 1 point for your fifth favourite.
6. You're not allowed to vote for your own song.
7. DKTOS, is not allowed as a comment whilest voting
8. Once you've posted a vote, you're not allowed to change it.
9. Voting continues until March 13th
10. By entering, you are agreeing to read and comment on all the other entries and vote.
11. Anyone who enters but does not both comment on all entries and vote by the deadline is disqualified and may not participate in the next event.
12. If you miss a submission deadline, you will not be entered in that event, but WILL be allowed to enter the next event.
However, there will STILL be an expectation that you comment and vote in the event you are not participating in, unless you have a valid reason for not being able to.
13. Rule changes may be suggested by any participant in their entry post. Changes are made only when a majority of that event's voters specify a "yes" vote along with their contest votes.
Scoring: Like the rules, the scoring is similar to the to the Decathalon, awarding the winner first place, with 10 points. Person who comes in 2nd, Points and so on, and so forth...
(Side Note: Normally this will start on Tuesdays, but I'm going to be rather busy tomorrow)
HAVE FUN!!!

Wow--I actually am going to find this parody topic very difficult--I don't find much about the world funny because I kinda respect all countries as equal. . .I'm going to try but I may have to take a goose egg on this one.

It doesn't nessessarily have to make fun of another country, but you parody can take place in another country. The topic is open to how you interpert it, and what you want to do with it. As long as it basically fits, "Places of the World"

hmmm.. .I'll work on it ;) I'll come up with something I'm sure--I have trouble with believing in myself sometimes. . .kinda never accepted myself as talented at anything. . .hench the name Below Average, but thanks for the advice on how to interpret it differently, that is much more attainable.

Although I've always changed it in this past, I'm going to try to do "Mysterious Ways" by U2.
My working title is "I Flew To Algeria? Dang!" Let's see where that takes me...

I can't choose a song! All the ones I think about doing so far have either already been done by me (Smells Like Teen Spirit) or Al (Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me) or ar in one of Al's polkas (Losing My Religion, Loser, Closer) so it's hard to stick with it. Help!

There's nothing wrong with doing a song that's already been parodied by you (although it took years before I actually started doing it!). But I don't think you should worry about which song you should use as much as what geographical location you'll talk about.

My parody will probably be submitted tomorrow night as oppossed to tonight, that is before the deadline right? I haven't put it up yet because I'm still fine tuning it. . . It says 27th, it would be the morning of the 27th though--not the 26th, that's ok right?
