Voting deadline for ABC3(A) is midnight (amiright time)     Wednesday July 5th
No votes date-stamped after the voting deadline will be accepted - no exceptions


Vote by replying to this thread with your five favorites in order:

1st choice........5 points
2nd place.........4 points
3rd place..........3 points
4th place..........2 points
5th place..........1 point

or in algebraic terms, p = 6 - r     (p=points, r=rank)



RULES
- Any parody beginning with the current letter is eligible, except parodies that have been entered into ABC1 or ABC2
- You're not allowed to vote for your own parody
- Once you've posted a vote, you're not allowed to change it
- Anyone who's participated in any previous ABC contest may vote
- Any entrant who hasn't left a comment on all entries is disqualified and may not participate in the next letter
- Any entrant who doesn't vote by the voting deadline (above) is disqualified and may not participate in the next letter



ALSO
Under no circumstances will a vote that missed the voting deadline be accepted (even by 1 second)
However the resulting disqualification from entry to the next ABC3 comp may be over-ruled, if you do the following...

   1.  Post an "appeal" on this thread giving your excuse for missing the deadline, and plead for mercy
   2.  If your plea wins the sympathy of 3 other entrants your disqualification from the next round will be overturned
        Your late votes will still not count though 
        (if less than 4 entrants in the comp, only 2 sympathetic "Thumbs Ups" are required)

I sure have Jack - I've been going back over last year's ABC comps for a precedent, and I think I've found one.

Firstly, congrats everyone for getting their votes in ahead of the deadline

We have a three-way tie for first between Red Ant, Johnny D, and Stu McArthur, all on 28 points.

To my knowledge, this has never happened before (and of course it had to happen on my watch)
but there have been previous two-way ties (most recently in ABC2's P-comp, where 2 golds and a bronze were awarded - no silver)
so I'm following that precedent, in that 3 golds will be awarded.

That was the easy bit.  But I also have to look ahead to see whose entry will get the nod to represent the A-Comp at the end of the ABC3 tournament.  The precedent is confusing here.  Last year Jeff chose Arwen's P-gold winner over Kristof's, leading me to believe that Arwen must have won that right by countback (ala SOTM) over Kristof. 

However when I checked the countback, Arwen and Kristof were even on 2 5-votes each, but Kristof took the lead by having 4 4-votes to Arwen's 2.

Therefore, if there was a precedent-setting countback situation, it should have been Kristof's P-winner that represented ABC2(A) in the final round, instead of Arwen's.  Clearly then, there is no precedent-setting countback system, and ABC2's single P-representative in the final was an oversight (sorry jeff!!) - ie. there should have been two P-reps, Kristof's "Possessed Canary Mental Hen" and Arwen's "Pull Your Pants Up, Please"

Sooooooo - to stick to THAT precedent, there will also not be a SOTM-style countback situation for the ABC3 comps.

In other words, all three ABC3(A) winners will represent A in the final

BTW, had this been SOTM, Stu would have won by virtue of having more 1st-place votes than either Johnny D or I (3-2-2), but a run off would have been needed to determine 2nd place, as Johnny D and I got identical votes!  (Given that we did get identical votes, a run-off would have probably ended in a tie as well).

So, in conclusion, I like your 3 golds system much better!  ;D

Congrats to all, and thanks everyone who voted for my parody. I put an extraordinary amount of time into that one (~10 hours).

I'm happy to do it, but Jeff put his hand up for it, when we three decided to split the ABC3 job.  Technically it doesn't have to go up until midnight tonight amiright-time, so I'll wait and see.  Also, Jeff, if you're reading this, I don't mind doing it anyway, so whatever you decide is fine :)
