Written By: Claude_Prez on 07/31/05 at 11:17 pm
~~Entries begin after the last parody update of the month.
~~Any song first appearing at AmiRight during the contest month (this year) is eligible.
~~To enter, reply to this thread with the url of your entry.
~~By entering, you are agreeing to read all the other entries and vote.
~~On the eighth day of the month, entries close and voting begins.
~~Vote by replying to voting thread with your five favorites in order:ÂÂ
Top choice gets 5 points, next gets 4 points and so on to 1 point for your fifth favourite.
~~You're not allowed to vote for your own song.
~~Once you've posted a vote, you're not allowed to change it.
~~Voting continues until the last day of the month ends.ÂÂ
~~Anyone who's participated in a SOTM contest may vote.
~~Anyone who enters but does not vote by the end of the month is disqualified and may not participate next month.
~~Voters must leave a brief comment on every parody, indicating they've read it for the SOTM contest (something like, "SOTM--555" or whatever)
~~When the new month begins, the first person to enter the next contest should copy this message and start the new entry thread with it.
~~Rule changes may be suggested by any participant in their entry post. Changes are made only when a majority of that month's voters specify a "yes" vote along with their contest votes.

Sorry, but I just had much more fun writing this one than my 'When Doves Cry' parody.
Guess I'm just a DKTOS addict.

I'm always reluctant to enter political parodies (I don't know of one that's ever medaled), but damnit, I worked to hard on this one and I like it too damn much not to enter it!

Torn between two parodies... one got more votes, but people didn't really get where the humour was coming from, the other got only a few votes but pretty much everyone knows what i'm talking about. So, in the end I chose:

(Shhh... you didn't see me checking in. I'm just back from a MUCH needed vacation and now that I've had a chance to destress, relax and rediscover what the word "fun" means, I am swamped under all the RL work that piled up in my absence, so technically, I'm not really back, yet. I will be back in plenty of time to vote in the round, though, so I wanted to check in long enough to enter. :) )

I don't know which to choose, this month: most of 'em were rants of some kind. My "Laws of Science" probably should be the choice, but I'm going to go with the really rather unhappy
"Killing Children (Wanton murder)"
'cause it leaves me with a tear in my eye whenever I try and read it. And that makes it unique of all the songs I've written so far. Sorry for inflicting this on everyone.

Having a break from SOTM, as I didn't have much worthy of entry in July. Going to spend August coming up with some killer parodies. Good luck, everyone!

Thanks, Red Ant. I actually was almost finished with it early this morning before work when my monitor suddenly went blank. Needless to say I was a bit frustrated. Anyway, I want everyone to know I'm with you in spirit as well and will be back trying to kick all your butts in next month's contest. Or something like that. So have fun all.
