Subject: April Song of the Month Entries -- Entries Closed
Written By: Claude_Prez on 05/02/05 at 1:09 pm
~~Entries begin after the last parody update of the month.
~~Any song first appearing at AmiRight during the contest month (this year) is eligible.
~~To enter, reply to this thread with the url of your entry.
~~By entering, you are agreeing to read all the other entries and vote.
~~On the eighth day of the month, entries close and voting begins.
~~Vote by replying to voting thread with your five favorites in order:ÂÂ
Top choice gets 5 points, next gets 4 points and so on to 1 point for your fifth favourite.
~~You're not allowed to vote for your own song.
~~Once you've posted a vote, you're not allowed to change it.
~~Voting continues until the last day of the month ends.ÂÂ
~~Anyone who's participated in a SOTM contest may vote.
~~Anyone who enters but does not vote by the end of the month is disqualified and may not participate next month.
~~Voters must leave a brief comment on every parody, indicating they've read it for the SOTM contest (something like, "SOTM--555" or whatever)
~~When the new month begins, the first person to enter the next contest should copy this message and start the new entry thread with it.
~~Rule changes may be suggested by any participant in their entry post. Changes are made only when a majority of that month's voters specify a "yes" vote along with their contest votes.

Click here for Pacing Aide. Disclaimer: This is the only sound file I could find. Poor quality recording, probably a garage cover, but a straight cover, so close enough to walk you through the melody & lyrics of the OS.

I've been waiting since April 1 to submit this one...it is really the best I can do, so I'll just go home if (when) I don't get a medal.
Fake I.D. to the tune of Eminem's "Without Me," which I'm sure I'll be able to find an mp3 of someplace on the web (I'll post it if (when) I find one).

Damn, I really couldn't chose out of three parodies (all my faves!), but in the end I settled for this one coz it's one of my best rated parodies:

You know I've misplaced my book of voting bylaws...but isn't it written somewhere that first time voters are required to vote for Arwen?
I could be wrong...but... ;)

If we DKTOS, does that disqualify us for the contest? Is a comment like " DKTOS or DRememberTOS but funny ( SOTM ) " okay? Also, are we allowed to ( SOTM ) songs as they appear on this list? I already have done one. Forgive my ignorance on this as I haven't had a parody worth entering untill now.

Any comment is good, as long as you leave a comment (so DKTOS would be fine)
You can comment on those songs whenever you like between the time they appear on this list and the end of the month. Obviously, you can't vote until the voting thread is up (since more songs can be added)

i've posted this song already but i'll do it again...lol
"Mother Dearest"
I remember that night
Mom busted in with a great big fright
I know my mom loves me
She haves her way of showing it
With wiping me with coat hangers and
covering my mouth with Post-its
She would always tie me up
And an electric chair
My mind would be fried
So I could forget all about last night
(ladida ladida ladida ladida)
I know my mom loved she had a way of showing it
By beating me to death and holding me hostage
But that's the mom would care for me
I guess I'll always be a Daddy's girl
A daddy's girl :)

Actually, it's more an inevitability than a rule.

I'm entering so I can catch up on the work of the other authors here... and to make them ALL suffer through a rap parody. Just remember it's your own fault for not showing up first time around.
