Subject: Food Parody Contest Voting Thread
Written By: PRobinson on 11/07/04 at 12:43 am
Ummm...rules...Well, how about everyone makes three selections, with the scoring on the usual "3-2-1" basis. Voting deadline is Sunday, November 14th, 11:59 pm, Pacific Standard Time.  All entrants must read and comment on all the entries. Contestants may not vote for their own entry. Tie-breaking procedures:  Uhhh...In the case of a tie or ties the contestant receiving the most first place votes will be declared the winner. If first place votes are tied then the most 2nd place votes would prevail. If that is tied then 3rd place votes would also be tied SO the contest would be officially declared a TIE. Is anybody still following me? If so, why? (just kidding).  Ties for 2nd and 3rd place will be declared ties.
OH...drat, an ENTRY LIST and the site addresses still needs to be posted before the voting thread can be officially open...Hmmm....I have a couple of other things I have to do right now. If they haven't been posted when I get back over here either later tonight or tomorrow morning  Sunday afternoon or evening sometime I will put them up.
OK, sorry I wasn't able to get around to this until today. I was kinda hoping the originator (ahem) would pick up the ball here. But, since I leapt in to close the contest, I guess I must now post the links. So it has been written (just now), so it will be done:
Please don't start voting until I have posted all the links and noted it at the bottom of this posting. Thanks.ÂÂ

I was really surprised that there were so few songs submitted here that talked about the joy of eating. I thought we were going for songs that made you hungry, but many of these made me NOT hungry!
anywho--
3pts--Jake A Ralphing aka Luke, the most artful lyrical construction of gluttony since Weird Al's "Fat".
2pts--Stuart McArthur for introducing us to a most tasty sounding treat (maybe they are akin to Veggie Pigs in a Blanket here in the US?)
1pt--Mystery Goat...this one drips grease and ketchup off of the screen.

Don't know if anybody saw my note in the regular comments threads...Because the messageboard site was done on Sunday I suggested an extension until this coming Friday for voting in this contest. I see everyone except Jack and myself have now voted. I intend to look them all over and vote tonight, if possible. If Jack casts his vote before Friday I guess we can tabulate the votes and see who finished where.

Well, OK...I boiled down the parodies here and this is what is left in my voting pan:
1st place - #6 Adagio - "I'm Just A Slinger Of Hash Browns At This Stand"
2nd place -#3 Stuart M - "Still A Sausage Roll For Me"
3rd place - #2 Mystery Goat - "Curly Fries"
So that means all the votes are in except Jack's. I'll send him a note...

Luke Brattoni - Chicken
Confusion reigns, Jack. Luke did a song called "Spare Pants" and Paul R. did a song about Chicken. Which is it?

Been sick a couple days, just looked in. Confusion reigns! Contest without end! Jack's apparently been busy - involved in a Musical at school, it appears. I've been dizzy, bout of the stomach flu has had me on my rear...(I hope you all will notice the intricate poetic flow of those two lines - it's the only thing I've written in days)...Tonight I'm not willing to take on any work, even something as simple as the vote tabulation, but if it's not done by Jack or someone else I will tabulate and post the results sometime Saturday afternoon or evening, Pacific Standard Time...going to browse a couple other things on-site and head back to bed...
'Nite all...

Here's what I came up with.....
johnny 3 3 1 1 3 3 = 14
stuart 2 2 2 3 2 2 = 13
adagio 3 2 3 = 8
luke 3 2 2 1 = 8
paul 2 1 1 3 = 7
mystery 1 3 1 = 5
jack 1 1 2 = 4
jeff 3 = 3
guy 2 1 = 3
agri 1 = 1
*******************************
According to my tabulation, Adagio takes official third place since she has more first-place votes than Luke.
Since the Medals are my own little pet project, however, and since I have, from the beginning, always chosen to base my awarding of Medals on point-totals only with no consideration of tie-breakers or official standings, here is how I award the Medals:
BRONZE MEDAL = Adagio
BRONZE MEDAL = Luke
SILVER MEDAL = Stuart
GOLD MEDAL = Johnny D

I've been a 'Fan Of Angry Beavers' since 1998, (my friend has a site http://members.tripod.com/~foab/index.html)
Snaps for JD's parody, well worth reading. Kudos also to Stu and Adagio. Oh yeah, and myself of course.
Yikes, where have all my manners gone??
