Subject: ABCs Round "R" entry thread
Written By: The Invincible on 08/29/04 at 1:17 pm
I might not be able to put this thread up by tomorrow morning, so I'll just do it now.
Traditional ABCs entry rules apply. In this case, if you have a parody that starts with the letter R, it is eligible for this round. The deadline for entry is 10pm on Sunday, Sept. 5th, but in actuality it may be closer to 3pm the next day. I'll announce when the entry thread is closed. Include in your entry the name of the parody and a link to it.
That is all I will say for now. We will speak again.
Oh, and I have a parody for this round myself, but the sheer volume of suckiness prevents me from entering it.

Wow, most of my "R"'s are kind of sucky. I think this is the best one. "Red Rubber Doll"

I really regret that this rant has not received any recognition. Hopefully this roundup will rectify that.

Damn... eighteen "R"s to choose from. Probably the best of them has to be Revelations - Tabloid Style (to 'Revelations' by Iron Maiden), but although IMO it's got just about the best finishing verse I've written, it probably ain't that accessible... Anyway ignoring what I'm not going to submit, my entry in the "R"s (so to speak) is:
A Roomful of Monkeys (to 'A Spoonful of Sugar' by Mary Poppins)

We have but one...
Recall Gray Davis
Which wasn't just any recall, it was a TOTAL RECALL! ;D
Oh yeah, to the tune of Viva Las Vegas by Elvis Presley.

MooRocca has brought to my attention a rule laid by Ethan at the start of Round D. Something along the lines of..."If a person does not vote in a round for which they have submitted a parody, they will be banned from the round 2 weeks following."
In this case, agrimorfee neglected to vote in the "P" round, so by rule he should be restricted from the "R" round.
However, I have decided to allow him to stay in the round, but not without price. I will enforce a 1 vote handicap on agrimorfee. Meaning, in order to win this round, he will need to come in first by a 2-vote margin.
I hope this is an agreeable compromise.

I'm back! After a large session of bugginess wherein I tried to change my email address and it allowed me to do so, but then refused to send me a confirmation email ever, so I couldn't log in with it :-\\. And yeah, the fact that I didn't just get a new account was entirely laziness on my part, but anyway, I'm back now, and entering

It should really be noted that a. I know I added a couple of extra syllables in a couple spots, a fact that I'm not proud of and wish I could change and b. I also thought of the chorus after I posted it without one. Consider it to say "Mu... huh? // Mu... whah?" in the chorus.

I'm well aware of the fact that tomorrow is Labor Day, and most people will not be working. I, of course, will also not be working. However, I am taking my girlfriend to the state fair, so I am officially extending the deadline for entry. Last minute entries will be accepted until Monday September 6th at 10 pm Eastern Time/ 9 Central / 8 Mountain / 7 Pacific (Are they on the internet in Guam?).

Well, I don't have very many "R" letter parodies, but I personally am quite fond of this one and proud of having written it, even though it is not a "funny" piece:

I am finally here to announce that this thread is now closed to entries for the ABCs of Parodies: Round "R". I apologize if this post came a little later than scheduled, but my father suffered a mild heart attack today. My prayers are with him. Anyway, I'll start work on the voting thread right away.
