I don't have the time as of late to make individual comments this goround, but I will instead just place my vote. This one wins for sheer pacing, and inventiveness--it's something I would want to read again (or hear again if it was recorded), even though I am not terribly familiar with the original! My "G" vote goes to the MysteryGoat for "Gettin' Piggy With It". 8)

Very tough call between tales of pirate justice, boredom in the heartland and goldilocks revisited, but...
I think the edge goes to #1 by a hair...

I have to go with 18, I thought it was just really hilarious, but the others are also written with so much humor and ability was put into each one.

I almost voted for Leo Jay in the last round, so I'm giving my vote to him in this one # 15, but MooRocca was right up there with him.

Even though it puts us behind the 8 ball I gotta go with "Grinch" by 2nz. A well-crafted song to say the least.

I vote for Paul Robinson's "Gas Station Bathroom", #11
http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/cream20.shtml
Paul's parody had me laughing out loud when I read it, and even when I remembered it later - the pacing is incredible, too!
Honorable Mention for Adagio's "Green Men Will Grab Ya" - read it while listening to the MIDI - the effect is hilarious!

Torn between Leo's "Girl and Chimpanzee" and Agrimofee's "Gluteus Maximus" (so to speak)
I'm going for Agrimorfee - what tipped it was that he didn't call it "Uranus" ;)

Geez. Making vote for one parody is pure torture - even 3 would have been difficult, as I have 5 here to choose from. I'm just going to list them, and note that my choice between them was fairly arbitrary (at the time I'm typing this, I haven't yet picked one).
The nominees are:
Grinch
Gas Station Bathroom
Gangplank to Heaven
Goin' Out of my Gourd
and Get the Bombing Started
and the winner is... oh, how about Gangplank to Heaven. I guess. :D

I agree with nemi (may I call you nemi? ;D ) that it would be so much easier if we could vote three like in SOTM....
But we can only do one, so my vote goes to:
#6. MooRocca's "Going Out of My Gourd"
(Just edging out MG's "Piggy", and with honourable mentions to Ethan for "Grizzlies" and Paul for "Gas Station Bathroom").

Wow! Another very tough round. Many excellent parodies but only 1 vote allowed. I'm going to go with:
#15, Leo Jay's Jungular tale of the Eternal Triangle, "Girl And Chimpanzee (The Tarzan/Jane/Chimp Love Triangle)"
This was so tough. In my book Leo edged out, in no particular order, #2, Adagio's "Green Men Will Grab Ya", #6, MooRocca's "Going Out Of My Gourd" and #8, Johnny D's "Gangplank To Heaven".ÂÂ

Just beating out Leo Jay's very punny entry. Great job everyone, and I'll have comments done by tonight.

Subject: Re: Round G Voting
Written By: EthanM on 06/13/04 at 9:02 pm
this one i'm going to have to count carefully
1: 2
2: 2
3: 1
4: 1
6: 2
8: 1
10: 1
11: 2
15: 4
16: 2
17: 1
18: 4
And we have a tie... 12 different songs got votes and 2 tied with 4 i guess we need to do a tiebreaker

Thanks to agrimorfee for the vote and Meriadoc for the edging. ;) And congrats to the two ties, may the best song win... which we all know is mine.

Wow... like Wow, man. I did a recount of myself and Leo, just because I could have sworn he beat me out. Maybe I'm just seeing double because it's so late, but Leo seems to have 5 votes and I seem to have 5 votes too. Either way, it's still a tie, but let me know if I'm wrong and I should go get some sleep...
I've thought about it, and I'm just gonna get some sleep.
Yo Leo, may the best man win, ya punny bastard. :D
