Subject: ABCs of parodies round "D"
Written By: EthanM on 05/07/04 at 7:45 pm
if you wrote a parody that starts with "D" and you want to include in the abcs of parody competition this is the only week to do so. You have until next friday evening (no earlier than 6 pm eastern time) to submit your entries in this thread. And remembewr this thread is for entries not for voting there seemed to be a bit of confusion last time. good luck and may the competition be as stiff as round "C"

Well, I used Don't Drive So Close To Me for the April Contest, so I'll go with Don't Worry, It's Copied for this one:

I know it's another Billy Joel but it's the only D I have.

http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/2gether0.shtml - one of two, and the other was worse. I expect to get marked down for pacing on this, as the original idea I had for the chorus was too funny not to use, even though it had too many syllables. Oh well.

Coulda gone with Dairy Queen, but it got a good number of votes, so I'll go with one that didnt receive as much attention, but was good enough to make Wild Man go "dysletic" :o

I've got too many 'D's:
Dad Peregrin, De Blogged and Ruddig Dose, Dear Buffy, Dear Lord and Father of Mankind, Dear Users, Derek and Clive, DHCP, Diarrhoea Streaming, Disobedience, Disobedient Child, Does Your Mother Know, Don't Let's Be Beastly To The Muslims, Don't Read The Sun, Dove Turds, Drinking Beer, Drive A White Van
(whittle, whittle...)
Dad Peregrin, Derek and Clive, DHCP, Diarrhoea Streaming, Don't Let's Be Beastly To The Muslims, Dove Turds, Drive A White Van
(whittle, whittle...)
Dad Peregrin, Derek and Clive, Don't Let's Be Beastly To The Muslims
Oh, sod it... seeing as I don't know most of the originals so far, and am going to be finding a load of lyrics/songs before voting, I'll subject you to the same fate:
Don't Let's Be Beastly To The Muslims
(to Noel Coward's "Don't Let's Be Beastly To The Germans").
There's an MP3 file here which cuts out just after the start of the last verse... but you'll have the idea by then.
