Subject: Is this the easiest (good) song to parody ever?

Written By: K1chyd on 08/25/23 at 12:53 am

I might have found the easiest song lyrics ever to parody.

Yes, even easier than The Beatles' "Yesterday".

And it's one that hasn't been used on Amiright ever before!

Even though it's from a famous band!

Even though it's from the 80s and an album that sold millions!

One with a good title for parody switcharoo!

I mean like really good!

One that has only twelve lines in total, six of them repeats of the title.

Still that's above the ten line rule, right?

Did I mention that you just have to look at the title to come up with ideas?

Usually several!

I have already written and submitted ten full parodies, could easily have gone on with more.

Don't call it a comeback, it just happened as I got rolling on a day off.

The Original Song is.......... *insert drumroll here*

ZZ Top – Dipping low (in the lap of luxury)

Click on the link below to listen to it.

And here's the original lyrics:

I went around the world till I found the right spot
It was ultra sweet and just a little bit hot
Dippin' low in the lap of luxury
Dippin' low in the lap of luxury

Now if you get down there, you'll be doin' it right
Yeah, once you got it, you better hold on tight
Dippin' low in the lap of luxury
Dippin' low in the lap of luxury

Now if you wanna break down, I'll hold my head up high
I'm a good mechanic, I'll go over you in style
Dippin low in the lap of luxury
Dippin' low in the lap of luxury

Dr. Jones and the Dial of Destiny (You have to pronounce "Dial" like "Doll" though...)

The line part with "around the world" doesn't even have to be changed for that subject!  :)

And with "Indy go/goes (for the dial of destiny)" you open up the possibility to sneak in a few car racing puns along the way too!
