Subject: Merry KISS-Mas (December's Amiright Reunion)
Written By: Matthias on 11/29/18 at 4:26 pm
ARTIST = KISS
TOPIC = Christmas/ Winter Holidays
This challenge originated in the TOP SECRET SONG PARODY FACEBOOK GROUP that everybody knows about. The first one went really well, so we're going to start advertising here and on the front page so that people not in the group can participate as well. Anyone with questions can leave them here or in the comment section of the Events Page notification. Or in the comment section of one of my parodies, I'll definitely see that haha. Okay. So the main thing to know is that the parodies should appear on AmiRight on Monday, December 31st so they should be submitted Friday (December 28th) - Sunday (December 30th).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ever wish you could travel back in time to the Golden Age of AmiRight? Well gas up your DeLorean, because we know exactly when lightning is gonna strike the clock tower! On Monday, December 31st a crapload of AmiRight blasts from the pasts will all be showing up back at their old stomping grounds for "Merry Kiss-Mas!" - In honor of everything Christmas or Winter Holiday-themed... The challenge is to parody any song by the face-painted, long-tongued Gene Simmons and friends: KISS and make it about something to do with December Festivities like Santa Claus's Cookie Gluttony OR Adam's Sandler's NEW Hanukkah Song OR Festivus For The Rest of Us it's really up to you. Anything is up for grabs, INCLUDING NOT FOLLOWING THE CHALLENGE PARAMETERS AT ALL.
See, the main point of the challenge is really the reunion aspect, where all these great authors pick one day a month to show up back here and resume the great camaraderie and encouragement that characterized this place back in the day. So even if you're like "Who the hell is KISS?" Or "Who the hell is the Grinch?!" You can still write a parody about whatever the hell you want, show up, and know that there will most likely be an amazingly receptive potential audience for your work, especially provided you're one of those brilliant people who understand that Golden Rule thing. So have fun, good luck, and we'll see you there!
I've been trying to come up with a clever, snarky intro to what I'm planning to do like I usually do with these things, but my brain's coming up blank. I'm parodying "Deuce" and turning it into "Goose". There, done, back to ZZ Top.
No snow progress report: Having crashed and burned with my parody ideas sleigh and sacked ideas like "Hard gifts" set to "Hard times" and "I stole the gifts" or "I stole the Grinch" to "I stole your love" I'm now working on "Santa's Retired (A 2068 Climate Change Christmas Carol)" set to "Heaven's on fire".
I think I’m going to do “FIREPLACE” to “FIREHOUSE” about Santa coming up with ways of breaking into a house with no Fireplace
I wrote my parody but it's on my work computer so it should be up tomorrow.
I think this was the final round of Amiright Reunion because nobody's involved anymore. That's fine with me. I have other projects to work on
Please check me out and follow me on Podbean to see my latest project.
I haven't even begun to write, I'm a doof. If I do finish a KISS-mas parody, computer issues will prevent me from submitting tonight as well, it will be up by the 3rd (because I have to do it at work on the 2nd).
Guys, I am sorry but I just couldn't get into the KISS-mas spirit with the small window of time that I ended up having to this (and should have done earlier than that, I know). :-\\
Like many, I will respectfully but regretfully bow out. But parody writing is still in my TODO list for 2019 and beyond.
Happy new year! :D
