Subject: Wallmart or Kmart - poor choice?
Written By: K1chyd on 09/09/15 at 7:20 am
So, I came up with a line for a song I'm thinking about, and "Wallmart" and "Kmart" both fit the rhyme scheme, but for context I want it to imply "where poor people / white trash go to shop".
In this regard, is one of them a better choice than the other?
Nothing mean about it - I just lack the cultural knowledge to best use that connotation here.

I wouldn't step inside a Wal-Mart because they buy cheap sh!t from China.

I did go into a few Walmart stores a few years back and found it useful for our requirements.

Culturally speaking, either one will work. Wal-Mart (spelling corrected, FYI) makes a ton of money and has more of a "white trash" reputation, but K-Mart has been a crummy store and a losing proposition for the Sears Co. for many years (another company going down the toilet).

I prefer making fun of Walmart. They pretty much suck at treating their employees right.
