I don't think I'm a Grinch.
I love Christmas, I really do. I just HATE Christmas music.
To me, it's just the same 5 songs over and over AND OVER again.
So, to try and make it enjoyable for me this year, I will be attempting my own challenge (like Matty's Song-a-Day for November) to write a parody of a different Christmas song between December 1st through the 25th. They can be traditional carols or pop songs. They won't necessarily be Christmas themed parodies (some will) but as long as it is a parody of a song that gets overly played during the holiday season.
I'll post them all here, hopefully everyday during that span (might have to double up on some days)...but my ultimate goal is to write at least 25 parodies.
Wish me luck!

This is a sweet idea! Might have to do this myself next year... (That song-a-day thing kinda fizzled out too... Bummer)

I can't promise that everything is going to go as planned, but I'll do my best.
Looking back through everything, it looks like I've written only one parody of a Christmas song
Thank Goodness (Shore Is Over)

But this isn't my first rodeo of writing Christmas themed parodies:

I'll try my best not to repeat topics...but again, no promises ;D

I miss writing Christmas albums like Decking The Wall and Holidasia, but free time is different nowadays. Good luck, Abbott!

I'm currently doing my own "12 Parodies of Christmas" side project...
So far I have

1. "Reindeer" parody of Rihanna's "Diamonds" =>http://www.amiright.com/parody/2010s/rihanna24.shtml

3. "Scrooge's Ghost" parody of Phil Collins' "Sussudio" => http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/philcollins72.shtml
I have a few more ideas as well I want to cover things such as Charlie Brown's pitiful Christmas Tree, Ralphie shooting his eye out, The Grinch raiding the Whos, Kevin McAllister taking out robbers and perhaps even a tribute to John McLane... Stay tuned!

Not to burst your holiday bubble, but you did do
http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/pinkfloyd192.shtml
...and I did do "Ralphie" and "(Charlie) Browned"...
But inspiration has hit me...you should do "The Whoopie Ti-Yo Chorus" to Handel's "Hallejuah Chorus"! An early Christmas gift to you.

There can never been enough parodies about Ralphie, Charlie and The Grinch ;)
That one is pretty old. I think the Grinch can use an update and I don't have any songs about Charlie Brown or Ralphie in my own personal repertoire

Alright, alright, alright...the challenge has started, and I'm already a day behind! Oops. Well, as long as I get 25 done by Christmas...that'll count as a win for me. But hey, here is entry number one!

Soooo... Unless you upload all 23 others on Christmas Eve I dunno if you're going to pull this one off. I'm rooting for you though dude.

Here is entry number two...and it might be over before I started. I really wanted this to happen, but as days go by, I'm starting to realize what a huge task all of this is. I only have seven or eight ideas thought out so far, so I would have to come up with ideas, write them out, and come up with my trademark image for each one...EVERY DAY! I don't want to come up with crappy ideas and throw them out there just to complete this challenge. So, I think (if possible) I'm going to write out the ideas I have and do the best I can for the rest of this month. Another reason is because I am coming up on the 300 mark, and I really don't want to hit that point with Christmas parodies. AND, I haven't even started working on my Artistry entry for the Frank Zappa round yet (I have an idea, just haven't started writing it yet). Soooo...we'll just have to see how this goes.

25 is a lot. You should follow in my footsteps and do 12. 12 Days of Christmas. 12 Parodies of Christmas. The math works out.
