In November 2009, Boston.Com held a Holiday Song Parody Contest, and longtime AmiRight parody author Johnny D (John D. Small) won the contest with "Waiting For Gourdot, It's True", his parody of Foreigner's golden oldie "Waiting For A Girl Like You".  Johnny's parody "Waiting For Gourdot, It's True" is a spoof of Samuel Beckett's play "Waiting For Godot", and tells the story of Peanuts' character Linus Van Pelt's annual vigil for The Great Pumpkin on Halloween night.  The moderator of Boston.Com's contest posted the following note above Johnny's parody on the contest's voting page: "To the tune of Foreigner’s “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” comparing the waiting of Linus for the Great Pumpkin to Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot.” The song is abridged, and so is the explanation. But I did like how surreal this was, and that it was an alternative to Christmas songs"
