Description  Laffing Matterz, an ongoing, comedic musical revue in Fort Lauderdale, is seeking original musical material. Our show needs a steady steam of clever, fresh, and funny songs.

Ultimately, we would like to develop a long-term collaboration with one or two writers. In the quest for such a person, we are offering two $500 rewards for the funniest songs on either of the following subjects:

- Barack Obama's first days in the White House (just to make this a little tougher...we don't currently have a race-appropriate actor for the role of Obama, so you'll have to work around that.)

- The Economic Meltdown

Some guidelines:
- Submissions must be received by February 15, 2009.
- NO Parody - If you're not comfortable writing music, please feel free to submit lyrics. We'll take care of the rest.
- Think in terms of a PG-13 rating. Edgy is good. Vulgar is not.
- Songs may be written for 1-8 cast members. (4 male, 4 female)
- Costuming is possible. A few minor set pieces are possible.
- Songs should be 2.5-3 minutes in length and full of big laughs. Chuckles don't cut it here.

Submissions may be sent to laffingmatterzmd@mac.com. A fully transcribed version is not required. If you have written music, a lyric sheet and mp3 demo will suffice.

Tough work... I wish I was better at writing original stuff, but everything that I've written (music-wise) has been a parody.

Looks like fun... quite tempting, actually :)
