Subject: Which of these parodies shall I submit for March SOTM?
Written By: Jason on 03/28/08 at 5:55 pm
Im considering submitting one of the following parodies for March's SOTM
However I am a bit undecided about which one to submit, so your suggestions will be welcome:
Blue Monday (The Day A Plagiarist Gets Banned) - parody of New Order - Blue Monday
http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/neworder5.shtml
SOTM - parody of Village People - YMCA
http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/villagepeople52.shtml
and last but by no means least
Quickity Quick! (Pogo Stick!) - parody of The Coasters - Yakety Yak
http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/thecoasters14.shtml
Thanks.
Jason.

That's up for you to decide... But since this isn't a contest, this thread should be moved to the other forum...

Yes I know that, but all I wanted was a suggestion as to which one. I don't think it should necessarily be moved, after all this question is still related to a forthcoming SOTM contest.

Like Matt said, it's up to you to decide. Personally, I would enter "Quickity Quick" in the upcoming ABC-Q round.. not sure about the SOTM decision.
You could write another parody before March is over to make the decision more difficult. ;D

Thanks for that suggestion Jack. I have already entered Quickity Quick into the ABC(Q) round. However although I would still welcome some suggestions, it is most likely SOTM (Village People - YMCA) will get entered. I assume multiple entries are not allowed in SOTM/Y contests.
Im a bit stuck for ideas regarding my next parody, but its likely that my next parody will be a couple of weeks or so. I don't have enough time to submit a parody every day such as John A. Barry, Stan Hall or even Michael Pacholek (all great parodists).
Thanks again anyway though.
Jason.

Your Blue Monday did get the hugest response...but sometimes inside-centric parodies about Amiright are not wholly successful in SOTM. However, IMO, this was the best of the three you have asked us about.
